- HWC Home Works CorporationWe have a 1958 ranch and the only bathroom had never been renovated. We wanted to start from scratch down to the studs for a 5’ x 8’ footprint. Sales person was very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable in selecting the various components and colors for the bathroom. The contract was very clear and detailed. Payment expectations were 1/3 upfront, 1/3 at the start of the project, and 1/3 at completion. The shower install was completed by Bath Works, which had a 12 month same as cash financing for the shower portion only. HWC coordinated and selected the various trades involved, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, shower install, and painting. The start of the project was pushed back several times, but communication was good. The actual work process was expertly done. The workmen were respectful, cleaned up each day, and were highly skilled. My wife and I are so satisfied with the end result. It is like going to the spa everyday. We intend to renovate the kitchen and basement down the road, and will definitely be turning to HWC in the future

Rod arrived early to do the estimate, was very knowledgeable and had some good ideas to share with me. I was not an easy customer to deal with but they were both very accommodating in terms of pricing and scheduling. I had a bit of a misunderstanding with Faith. The details are less important than the fact that she made a real effort to make things right by me. They clearly value their Angie's List customers and make every effort to ensure they receive positive feedback. I did not have any work done this time but I plan on using them in the future and would recommend them to others

He refinished the outside woodwork, replaced the deck railing and when the railing finish didn't uphold to the weather he has agreed to refinish it with a different stain. The railing itself is as sturdy as when he installed it, and the other finish is gorgeous. I recommend him 100%.
- Montell ConstructionOverall, our experience was very satisfactory. The only complaint we would have would be that communication was not always the best. The workers were not in a position to make changes or to correct anything that we might take issue with. We then would have to get in touch with the supervisor and have to wait for a call or a visit so that he could see what we were concerned about. More routine visits from the supervisor would have been good. We found that we needed to keep close watch on the workers to make sure they were doing exactly what we wanted. Make sure you put everything in writing that you want....leave nothing to verbal agreement

- Melvin Belk RoofingMelvin Belk roofing did a fantastic job. Took them only a day and a half to complete the roof. They cleaned up the yard and you would never know they were here except for the new roof. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!
- Melvin Belk RoofingThey had to tear down , repair wood underlayment quite extensively, reshingle and change to new ridge vent. They came in and did the whole job in ONE DAY!! We were flabbergasted. They had a huge crew- I think 9 guys- and they all worked non-stop tip the sun went down and they were finished. The entire neighborhood was in awe. Mr. Belk is a character but came in the morning to get them started and then came about 3/4 of the way through the job and supervised until the end. He is loud and shouts orders to his crew, but let me tell you-there is no fooling around!! Their salesman-Jeramiah- is absolutely wonderful, tells you the whole story, takes his time to answer any questions, and also comes after the job is finished to wrap it all up. They were amazing-and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Totally professional job and the way work should be done but rarely is these days. My partner has done a lot of roofing but we whose to hire it this time so we knew what to look for, both in product and in workmanship. Fine job all the way around

- Bradfield Home Improvement and Remodeling LLCJohn did a great job on our stairway which leads to our deck. This was a challenging job because the stairs tie in with the side of our house and a retaining wall. He had to contend with the erosion of the dune under the stairs. The wood for the stairs came in a light and a darker run. He made sure that the color of the wood was consistently placed on each stair. They look perfect! This is the second time John has done work for us. Very happy with his work

"I found them on Angie's List and a friend referred them to me, too. They came quickly and on time. We liked it all pretty well. They came and looked at the job and saw what the problems were. They told us what they would do and gave us the price. We decided to go with that. The only negative thing was that after they were done (it took about 3 hours), we asked them about a particular part of the work which was in the contract. There was a shingle with a hole in it and they said they didn't know about it. Somewhere there was a break in the communication between the guys who did the inspection and the guys who did the work. It was on the worksheet but they must not have read it or something. I told Schmidt about it and they took care of it. In fact, they found a couple of other shingles that needed to be replaced, too, so that worked out well.

"Speese exceeded our expectations, and did an excellent job. Although we had other painting companies bid on the project, none were very specific as to the preparation work that was needed, except for Speese. We were fortunate that Speese took the time and care to make sure that the exterior siding was properly washed, rotten trim was discovered, replaced, and everything was properly caulked & primed before painting. In fact, the carpenter took the time to fix the trim work to ensure proper drainage of water in the future. I also had a small wall crack inside our garage which has been there since we purchased the house, and they repaired and painted, which now looks great The painting was done by hand and not by a sprayer, which was great. We feel better today that our house was properly taken care of with Speese on the job. The crew that worked on the house were professional in every manner, on time, and clearly communicated daily as to what was going on. We believe we got value for the money spent, especially for all of the preparation and detailed work that was necessary. We would definitely hire them again to do any painting or pressure washing.
