"Brent explained how the leveling process worked, which was much more involved than I thought. He advised me as to how leveling slab-A might affect slab-B, so we could decide exactly how to approach the job. As the work progressed, he leveled a couple other slabs free of charge, for a better result.
He ran into a problem with a small slab under a step, but took his time, and did the best he could.
He, and his partner, were professional and courteous, taking time to assess how each slab might affect the next one. They cleaned up the mess very well before they left, and never gave me the impression that they were only concerned about how quickly they could finish and leave.
They're pricing was much better than two other quotes, and their salesman seemed more willing to help me decide which slabs to level without running up the cost.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

"Good alternative to replacing concrete. CLI Concrete Leveling out of Ypsilanti was the first to respond with an estimate for driveway repair at my home. I live in Kalamazoo. They are now going to do some work at my office and also do a neighborâ s driveway."

"We had a patio that had settled and sloped back to our house. M&M Foam Works came and raised it about an inch. It was enough to slope it away from the steps."

"Leveling/sealing went fine. Developed sand leak. Called company and was told: 'invoice clearly states that wash out not covered. Wash-out was never directly discussed as the drive clearly showed that it was leveled before: drilled and plugged holes. Tom Morgan said sand was not the material he used and I asked what could be done to stop the leaking (via email) and he never answered."

"The leveling part itself was awesome. Justin was very detailed in making sure the floor was leveling properly, the gaps were filling in correctly, and that the leveling mixture was mixed appropriately. He showed me all the steps and why they were doing them. The reason I rated them good was because the cleanup could have been much better. They basically just washed out their wheelbarrows with the leftover concrete onto my front lawn. And the one helper spent most of the day wasting my water by spraying down the driveway to allegedly clean it, but it really didn't end up clean at all. Overall, the service that I paid for was to level my garage floor, and that was done professionally and perfectly."

"After looking at our two repair jobs, Nosh explained in detail the work he proposed to do and the cost for each.  He discussed the options with us for fixing the front porch brick, and we agreed with his recommendation to replace all of the bricks rather than a piecemeal brick by brick replacement (about half of the bricks were bad).  Nosh impressed us with his knowledge and professional manner, so we decided to have him do the work.
Nosh started in immediately, going to three different brick sources until he found bricks that would be a close match to the bricks on our house.  He started work on the porch promptly the next morning, arriving early in the morning and working until late afternoon when it started to rain.  He returned early again the next day and finished the chimney late that afternoon.  When working on the chimney, he had planned to replace 5 or 6 courses of bricks on the chimney, but found he had to go down about 9 courses instead (he had to buy additional bricks to complete the job).  He did not charge for the extra bricks or additional labor.  He also discovered a cracked section of flue, which he replaced for only the wholesale cost of the flue liner.  He also replaced one brick on the front of the house that had cracked, and again didn't charge for the extra work.
We are very pleased with the final result.  Nosh did excellent work, and clearly takes great pride in doing a quality job.  He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is right, and when he finds additional unforeseen issues, he corrects them to make it right (the cracked flue liner is a great example).  He leveled a section of concrete sidewalk in front of the porch, and reset and secured the concrete step up to the porch at no extra charge.  He took the time to find the right bricks to match the bricks from 2 decades ago used on our brick house - you'd never notice the bricks had been replaced.  Plus he's a fun guy to talk to.

"I initially called Ben (Acct. Rep) back in June or July for a quote to repair the brick work for my front porch, which included replacing the concrete stairs and some tuck pointing.  Brick Concepts was one of (3) contractors I had called from Angie's List for an estimate. I thought Brick Concepts quote was more reasonable than some of the others, so I decided to work with them.  I liked their quote, because they allow the customer to pay upon completion of the job, which what great for me as it allowed me time to ensure I had all the money when the job was finished. Little did I know that they were able to complete the job in (2-3 days) which didn't give me the time I initially thought i.e. 1 week to have all the monies for payment.  So they were able to work with me by slowing down the job.
Regarding the quality of the work performed.  Overall it was good.  I was a bit disappointed that as the contractors started rebuild the brick on the front porch, they realized that the foundation of the porch wasn't leveled, which caused the quality of the work to be compromised somewhat to account for the foundation problem.
I was not very pleased with the height of the concrete steps that were done along with how they finished the sides of the top step as it didn't look like a "polished" job as expected. They didn't level the new concrete to be even with the rest of the cap of the porch on the left side of the top step. Ben had to come out and cut it to make it even after the job was considered "done". By far this was the part of the job I wasn't as pleased with the overall outcome.
The Tuck pointing that was done on the side of my house was "top notch"!  I thought they did an awesome job blending the new bricks and grout into the existing structure of the house.
Despite some of the challenges I had with the quality of the work. Overall it was good.
I actually asked Ben to give me a quote on additional exterior work that I would like to get done in the next few months.

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

Many contractors offer warranties for their work. Confirm terms before starting the project.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.
