"I had been having a terrible problem with frozen pipes during this awful winter. I called this company because of Angie's List reviews to see if they could help me. The owner, Bill, and the person who actually did the work, Matthew, came and checked out my situation. My home is 83 years old and the age of the house often causes problem for companies and workers used to more modern houses with accessible plumbing and dry wall. Comfort Zone reassured me that they could handle it. He brought two others with him to help. It was an all day job and some glitches and unforeseen difficulties cropped up. But by the end of the day, things seemed to be in order and the problems taken care of. It was very messy work, but they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves and I appreciated that as I don't always see that practice when I hire people. Bill the owner said several times that he was guaranteeing that my pipes were finished freezing and I believe him. I won't be able to check that until we get those frigid days with below zero wind chills again, but I believe that if there is an issue, this company will honor that unwritten guarantee. I was very satisfied dealing with the company and with Bill and Matthew. They seemed to take pride in their work and I felt they were honest with me throughout. I would use them again and recommend them as well. A bonus was the 10% discount given to Angie's List members which save me about $170.

I won't be able to check that until we get those frigid days with below zero wind chills again, but I believe that if there is an issue, this company will honor that unwritten guarantee." Unfortunately, the freeze came this week and the pipes froze again. The owner of the company came out to look when I called, but nothing was done. He told me he would have his crew put more insulation on an exposed pipe "when we have a job in your area." He advised I aim a small heater on the pipes. I did so for 12 hours. No luck. So, this morning, I had to pay the plumber $275 to unfreeze my pipes. It certainly looks now as if my $1700 from last March was a waste of money. If this company shows up soon to back up their guarantee, I will update this review again. As of now, I am very disappointed."

"My wife Ann & I wanted to personally thank Mike from Extreme Exteriors for how effortless they made the whole experience of getting our roof replaced in Macomb Twp, MI. I got several bids from different roofing contractors. Some of them started out with an extremely high price and when I was not satisfied they kept reducing there price which is suspect at that point. Mike from Extreme Exterior came to our home and with zero pressure explained our options, made suggestions when we ask him and answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured. In fact, it took my wife and I about 20 minutes into our conversation to determine we wanted to hire extreme exteriors, but I told mike I needed a day to think about it, as I always do. I was so pleased that he didn’t do what a lot of contractors do at that point which is too pressure us into signing the contract. We felt the price for the roof was really fair so we contacted mike and signed the contract the following day. The roof looks beautiful, the team cleaned up all of the debris from the old roof. "They were extremely friendly and were very punctual. They were even able to get us in a week earlier than expected! We had another company out for a quote and it was night and day. The other company spent maybe 5 minutes looking at the problem (Enviromax spent at least 30 minutes) and then never even sent the estimate and also told us we would have to wait at least 6 weeks!"

"I first contacted the company because a tree limb destroyed part of a gutter that needed to be replaced. The gutters in general, however, were failing to hold back gushing water during storms. In talking to the technician and looking at the roof, I learned that my gutters were most likely too small for the roof surface area and some of the gutters on the second story were definitely off kilter. Dillon gave me an estimate for gutter replacement that seemed reasonable on site and suggested I opt for the black gutters which look really cool. I would never have thought of that color on my own. All of my interactions with the company were good- they were polite upon initial contact, called when they were going to come late, actually showed up in person for the appointment, which for me is very important, and took the time to answer my questions. "Appointment was scheduled for a quote. A gentleman (Tim) arrived at the precise scheduled time. Prior to assessing the exterior of our home Tim took time to sit down with us to obtain an understanding of precisely what we wanted. After verbalizing our desires and expectations Tim took measurements and provided an estimate. Prior to signing a contract Tim voluntarily provided his suggestions with his clearly evident expertise. There was not any pressure. After interviewing several other companies there was not any doubt Thermal Shield was the choice due to the integrity that was exhibited during our initial visit. When Thermal Shield was then contacted to return to review the initial quote Tim returned and a start date was scheduled. While waiting for the start date Tim called just to follow up and make sure the date was still convenient. The Thermal Shield team arrived punctually each morning and each member had a specialty and hit the ground running. The guys were very professional and took a great deal of pride in their work. The job was completed in the time targeted; approx. five days. While the job was being completed Tim called each day and stopped by to make sure we were satisfied. Due to our home being older, built in 1927 we have dealt with our share of contractors, some not so good. I am sometimes apprehensive with the reviews wondering if they are truly customers. Let me tell you we struck gold with the Thermal Shield team! The final price was precisely as quoted. The code enforcer was by today to perform his final inspection and said "He has been doing inspections for many years and has never performed an inspection which consisted of such quality work" that is a quote. We cannot say enough about how satisfied and lucky we are we chose Thermal Shield.
