"We had a great experience with Saumier’s! Robert and his crew showed up when they said they would and were all very respectful of our time and our home. Work was well done and on time. I highly recommend them and will use them for future projects myself."

"Mike is wonderful. He  was prompt and very skilled.  He arrived when he said he would, and didn't leave until the job was finished. He saw that the floorboards were a bit scuffed up - he repainted them without our asking him, and without cost to us.  I will use Gabriel Painting for every painting job I need done. Absolutely fabulous."

"Remodeling an older home can be a headache, having little to no free time to commit to doing
the work myself I set out to find a quality company that could give me a quick turn around in time for the holiday season.
With an imminent need to have my floors stripped and re-finished, wallpaper
removed as well as several rooms in need of painting I needed someone
that could offer me a fair price to do the whole job in a short time frame.
Elysium was incredible; an estimator came to house the same day as I called to
schedule a quote and began work the following week. Four rooms of removed
wallpaper borders, some drywall patching later and the topcoat was applied.
With the wall paper gone and the new paint on the walls, my house got a complete
facelift. The crew that performed work on my house was respectful of
the project timeline and of our home and property. They held their word every
step of the way and the crew chief stayed in communication with me through out
the duration of the project. If you need a quick and professional turn around
Elysium has got skill and ability to take care of your project.

"We hired Shane & Brian to paint the exterior of our house and appreciated working with them so much that we hired them again for some interior painting a month later. Their work is high quality, they communicate very well, and they go the extra mile and more to make sure you are satisfied with the work."

"He painted my Living room. He was very thorough and very particular on getting the job done. He did a good job and he also did some repair cracks on the wall and that came out beautiful and overall I was very pleased and I would like to hire them again."

"We had Kori and his crew at PaintMaster Painting paint the exterior of our house in mid-September, 2017. From our initial interactions with Kori and his office assistant Angie, we were impressed with their promptness and professionalism. We set up a time for Kori to come out and quote the job. He arrived at exactly the time we had scheduled and provided us with a quote within just a couple of days following that first visit. Due to schedule rearrangements on their side, PaintMaster was able to begin on our job just one week after they originally came out for the estimate. They did a great job prepping the entire house by pressure washing all of the surfaces that were to be painted, and they even pressure washed our deck for us which we were not having them re-stain. All of this was included with the original estimate. Kori told us there would be no surprises, and there weren’t. The team kept us well informed of how our house painting was progressing. They cleaned up the entire job site each evening to the point that a casual observer would not have known that we were having any house work done. Kori took the extra time to get the color matching down correctly so that the house looks as close to its original color scheme as possible. In conversation, the team always seemed very knowledgeable about their trade. We were originally a bit concerned about having our house painted in early fall, with the risk of having cool damp mornings not conducive to painting. The PaintMaster crew took this into consideration, they kept an eye on weather conditions, and delayed starting some mornings until conditions were more favorable. In the end, we are very happy with how our house’s new paint job turned out. PaintMaster Painting finished the work ahead of schedule and below their original cost estimate. You read that right - they finished the house quicker than expected and with less paint than originally anticipated, so they were able to take a few hundred dollars off our final bill. Little details like that are what left us completely satisfied with our decision to go with PaintMaster Painting, and we would recommend them to anybody in the Greater Lansing area."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

As long as the surface you’re putting the tile on is properly prepped, peel-and-stick backsplashes should stay on and last anywhere from 3 to 5 years. The best way to ensure the tile stays on is to sand down and clean the wall before applying your design.

While you can remove wallpaper yourself, it is a labor-intensive process that risks damaging your walls. Common DIY methods include using a steamer to loosen the adhesive or spraying the paper with a solution of hot water and vinegar or dish soap before scraping. However, steamers can cause irreparable damage if used incorrectly, and the spray-and-scrape method can harm drywall if it gets too wet or you scrape too aggressively. For these reasons, hiring a professional is often the fastest, easiest, and safest option. A pro has the experience and specialized tools to remove wallpaper efficiently without damaging the underlying surface, which saves time and minimizes the prep work needed for your next wall treatment.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

Yes, you can pay someone to strip wallpaper. Before you hang new wallpaper, you should hire a local wallpaper removal service to prep the surface properly. Wallpaper removal pros cost $0.55 to $1.50 per square foot or $500 to $700 per room. Prices vary by room size and removal technique, as some options are more labor-intensive.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.
