"Had new roof put on our home three weeks ago. J/sales was very thorough at explaining all options of materials so could make informed decision and gave estimate by end of meeting. G/project manager was very accomodating as to providing a few special requests during job. We had a new skylight window applied also. They had to remove old shingles before applying new roof and was done quickly and professionally. We also had gutter guards put on our barn, comes with 20 year guarantee, cant beat that! Give them 5 STARS!"

The most obvious con of injection foam is the cost. It’s much more expensive to install than fiberglass or spray foam, but it may be your only option (unless you want to remove entire walls around the home). Another con is that it involves drilling into existing material, which has to be repaired after the foam is injected. Air sealing isn't necessary for attic insulation, but it's incredibly helpful since it can help you identify and patch any existing air leaks. Failing to find these leaks before adding insulation can render your insulation less effective, leading to higher energy bills and potentially costly repairs down the line.

Not necessarily. A higher R-value simply means that the insulation has a higher heat resistance and performs better in terms of how much heat passes through the material. This can be better for some homes, or it can be too high of an R-value for other homes. Again, your climate zone determines whether the insulation is better for your home.

Natural fiber batts and spray foam insulation both work great for soundproofing. Newer materials, such as hemp batts, are more expensive but more effective for insulation and sound blocking. They are also more sustainable. There is also a professional system called Blow-In Blanket Insulation (BIBS) that is soundproof and moisture-resistant. However, BIBS must be installed professionally and can be a costly investment.
