"I called Home Inspection to get a qoute to have a soap dish replaced in a shower. I was contacted by Roy from Lucus Family Flooring. He told me that he was on a job and would be able to come over within two to three hours. As he stated, he arrived within the stated time. He gave me a qoute that was just $50 over what I expected so accepted the qoote and asked when he would be able to do the job. He said he could not do iit tomorrow but the next day. I told, "Okay." Just then he receive a call. After ending the call he stated that he just had a cancellation and could do the job the next day. I again said, "Okay." Roy arrived on time, and went right to work. It took lust over an hour to finish the job, grout the soap dish, and even caulked the around the faucet ..which I did not do when I repaired a leaky faucet. Roy told me to wait about 3-4 hours before using the shower and then began cleaning. I told him that I would clean up. Roy was very nice and friendly. I thought he took great care to not damage any tiles nor cause any damage to the tub ..it was just reglazed three weeks earlier. Will I call Lucus Family Flooring when I need another job done? Yes."

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

After carpet removal, prepare for new flooring by assessing the subfloor. You will want to address any imperfections to create a smooth and level base for installation. Remember, proper subfloor preparation is crucial for optimal new flooring results. Consider repairing and replacing damaged areas for a stable foundation. For both wood and concrete subfloors, consider sanding to remove any debris or adhesives remaining thoroughly.

Most experts agree that the best thing with which to clean epoxy floors is a diluted mixture of ammonia and warm water. You can also use mild dish soap diluted with warm water or a degreaser (such as Simple Green or Goof Off) diluted with warm water. Some soap-based cleaners can leave a haze. If you notice this, further dilute the mixture with water or use a different detergent that does not leave a film. You should never use harsh cleaning chemicals, any type of acidic compound (such as vinegar or citrus-based cleansers), or harsh scrubbers like steel wool or hard bristle brushes.

You can mop bamboo floors, but exercise caution to protect the material from excess moisture, which can seep into the bamboo, causing it to warp and well. Moisten a microfiber mop and wring it out until it’s just damp, or use a pH-neutral cleaner, as this will prevent damage to the bamboo fibers. Avoid harsh chemicals, like traditional floor cleaners. After cleaning, wipe the floor dry.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.
