"We had three different teams from RetroFoam perform work at our house (attic installation removal, blow in attic installation, & wall insulation installation). All crews were hard working and professional. They performed everything they explained they would, gave status of progress, and made sure the projects were complete in a timely fashion."

"Hire this company; you won't be disappointed. We checked out a lot of companies before hiring BlownInsulationMI.com Their pricing is competitive, they do not use a hard-sell approach, they do little extras (like ensuring vents are properly installed, spraying for any mold, re-installing a shutter that had come down before the job) the workers are all personable, polite, respectful of property, and stay on task until the job is completed. Seriously. This is the company to hire!"

"Estimator came on time listened to my wishes, quoted a price I could afford, financed it. Installers were late but called to inform. Did show up, got right to it. Had to install from inside. They kept it neat patched the open holes, cleaned up, and vacuumed. Long day but a good job. I would use them again. Happy customer"

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on window size, type, material, and labor. Custom shapes or sizes typically incur higher expenses; full installation includes removing old windows.

Installing a window well costs anywhere from $500 to $1,500 or more. Adding an egress window and well runs about $3,900 on average. Adding a window well cover to the project can add $200 to $700. A well cover helps protect your egress windows from weather damage and keeps them clear of dirt, debris, and wildlife.

Basements are generally required to have windows for your safety. At a minimum, windows should provide an egress in the event of a fire. But basement windows do more than offer a way out; basement windows also offer natural light and ventilation in an area of your home that is otherwise dark and musty.

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.
