"Nick was great. The young person he had come to our home well not sure..he knew what he was doing. They change a light fixture by my curb side and it was not anything like the one I had. Wires were exposed and it didn't fit in the well AT ALL! I called and he sent him back with another one still looks awful wires exposed and charged me additional $110.00 makes no sense. So the quote I was given to confirm the job ended up much higher, $250.00 higher...that's a concern. Now my lights flicker on and off and the one curbside looks awful and is still not the correct fit.....he put the lights position to give it a fuller look which anyone can do and I knew what light was the problem that was changed so for the money we paid I think pricing was way too HIGH!"

"Dean showed up in the time window he gave me. Friendly, and answered any questions i had about the dryer. He even suggested i blow out the vent pipe with a leaf blower. He was courteous and cleaned up all debris from the dryer exhaust. He saved us a lot by fixing the thermostat, and now we don’t have to buy a new appliance. He did a great job! I highly recommend him.!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, gas dryers still need electricity. While their heating system relies solely on natural gas to produce the heat that dries your clothes, gas dryers use electricity to power the lights and display screens on their interface, turn on the drum, and power any automatic moisture sensors inside the unit.

Yes, states and local governments can have additional building codes that address kitchen outlets. In most cases, these kitchen outlet codes simply refer to the NEC. However, states or local municipalities can have separate requirements for electrician licensing, such as requiring a permit to make big changes, and other details.

This type of conversion is easy—you’ll just need to upgrade to the correct amperage in your wires before wiring the new outlet. However, these projects can be tricky without intermediate electrical knowledge, so consider consulting a pro before flipping any switches on your circuit breaker.

Yes, it’s safe to strip a wire if you follow the proper safety precautions. First and foremost, you must always disconnect the power and never try stripping a live wire. Using wire strippers is another safety precaution, but don’t forget to keep your fingers away from the blade. It’s also critical you only remove the insulation and not accidentally cut into the conductor, which is unlikely as long as you’re using the right-sized wire stripper.

Inverter generators are designed to turn on the engine when your appliances demand more energy. This is in contrast to running at full capacity as soon as they’re turned on, like a standard portable generator does. So long as the wattage rating is high enough, an inverter can power a refrigerator just as well as a traditional generator.
