Customers say: Quality work

"

They did a great job, and we have plans to redo a bathroom. I will totally hire those guys to do the electrical. They were just as helpful, friendly, and nice as you could ever want. It was wonderful. They're helpful, and they're willing to make sure everything is perfect. I just thought they were efficient, helpful, they were professional and they knew what they were doing.

"Mike and his crew did a great job. They upgraded our fuse box to a circuit breaker, did some trouble shooting with problems in our kitchen and installed 3 outside outlets. All the work was done quickly and exactly as described. Mike showed up when promised and fit us in to his schedule quickly. I highly recommend Efficient Electric and will not hesitate to use them the next time we need an electrician."

"Andrew came to our house between Ann Arbor and Plymouth at 8 PM on Tuesday when a storm caused an electrical outage. We had a generator but we're only getting partial power in the house. Andrew ran tests inside the house, determining that not enough power was coming into the house. He then started testing different areas of the generator until he found the part not working. Once he located the problem, he quickly fixed it. Because he didn't give up on me or my problem, he restored electricity, saving me hundreds from food spoilage in a refrigerator and freezer. I don't think most electricians would have stuck with the problem or been able or willing to fix the generator. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would."

"I hired Derek and his colleague to wire up our new hot tub. He was excellent at communicating and providing an estimate before work was started. The quality of work he provided exceeded my expectations. Everything was done neatly, to code, and did not leave a mess at my house. A sprinkler line was damaged during trenching, since we didn't know it was there, and he made the repairs with no questions asked. I would definitely hire him or recommend for electrical work. A+"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical projects in Westland offers immediate safety upgrades, such as reducing fire risks in homes built before modern codes. Upgrades like new panels or surge protection improve energy efficiency and home safety, which can lower utility bills. Long-term, you’ll benefit from easier insurance approvals, increased home value, and readiness for future technology like electric vehicle charging or smart home systems, all while staying compliant with local regulations.

Helpful?

In Westland, start spring by inspecting outdoor outlets and testing GFCI protection after snow melts. During summer, check air conditioning and pool wiring for wear. In fall, clean electrical panels and test heating system connections before cold weather sets in. Winter is ideal for monitoring electrical loads, checking for ice-related issues, and ensuring holiday lighting is safe, helping maintain home safety and energy efficiency year-round.

Helpful?

To ensure a smooth electrical project in Westland, confirm permit requirements and coordinate with your utility provider for any service upgrades. Review local electrical codes and secure any necessary neighborhood approvals. Always verify your contractor’s licensing and insurance, and source materials from reputable local suppliers. Plan work around seasonal weather, anticipate possible delays in winter, and schedule inspections with the Westland Building Department for code compliance.

Helpful?

In Westland, residential contractors handle rewiring, panel upgrades, and smart home installations, while commercial specialists focus on retail, office, and industrial electrical systems. Some contractors offer expertise in generator installation, electric vehicle charging, or pool and spa wiring—important for Michigan’s weather challenges. Many are familiar with local inspection processes and energy efficiency upgrades, ensuring projects meet both code and the unique needs of Westland homeowners.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Westland, keep a non-contact voltage tester, digital multimeter, wire strippers, insulated screwdrivers, and a reliable flashlight. Stock up on wire connectors, electrical tape, GFCI outlets, standard outlets, and weatherproof covers. Outdoor-rated extension cords and weatherproofing supplies are essential for Michigan’s climate. It’s also smart to have emergency lighting and surge protectors, especially if you have a finished basement or frequent power outages.
