"Within minutes of my request for a quote, I received a call, even though it was a Sunday! Dave came out the following day (apparently had a cancellation), discussed the project with me, gave me a quote, and did the job (carpet stretching) on the spot. He finished in an hour, cleaned up, and did a great job for a very reasonable price. I had thought my carpet was beyond repair, but he made it look almost as good as new. Will definitely call him for all my carpet needs in the future."

The sales staff were very helpful, especially Sarah.  Good communication prior to the install.  Day of install went exactly as planned!

Showed up on time, introduced themselves, scoped out the job and got right to it. They were friendly and polite.  Upon completion they vacuumed and did a walk thru with me. They gathered their tools and removed all the small left over pieces of padding and carpet.  At the end of the day they left no trace they were there working.  Very satisfied.

"Had carpeting cleaned, decided not to stretch.. should have though. Lillard's did a fine job, nothing bad to say about them, cost was reasonable. Removed most of the stains, only few small stains that I knew ahead of time that wouldn't come out. They were professional and courteous."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

The cost of carpet repair is $204 on average. The typical range for this project is between $135 and $280 but can increase to $1,000 for severe pet damage repair. The type of repair, along with the carpet material, will impact your total price tag.

The necessary type of carpet repair is a significant factor in the total price for this project. You can repair simple repairs, like tears and snags, for between $100 and $250. For more complex damage, like water or severe pet damage, prices can start at $300 and jump to $1,000 or more.

If you want to save money on carpet repairs, there are a few ways to save without sacrificing quality. Some options you have include:

  • Cleaning set-in stains by renting a steam cleaner or using DIY carpet cleaning methods

  • Prepare the area for repairing yourself, such as moving furniture, to avoid unnecessary fees.

  • Protect high-traffic areas with a runner rug to avoid excessive wear and tear.

You may be able to use super glue in a pinch to fix your carpet, but expect the repair to last only a short time. Super glue isn't designed for carpet, so over time, it'll break down, and the carpet piece will move out of place. For the best results, go to the store and grab a bottle of carpet seam glue.

Professionals ensure effective adhesion by choosing the right adhesive for the materials, preparing surfaces properly, and applying pressure as needed. This attention to detail ensures durable connections in various applications from construction to repairs.

Bumps, wrinkles, or detachment often require stretching for smoothness.
