"Eric and Riley did a great job for a very fair price, diagnosing and fixing of several problems that popped up. For anyone worried about price gouging, they showed a lot of integrity by replacing parts at no extra cost when they easily could have gotten by keeping mismatched but functioning accessories. Also, it is not cost-effective to dig into the gas lines and the firebox just to sell an upgrade. Outside work such as installing a color-coordinated chimney cap might yield a profit. Chimney Sweeps are very busy. I recommend getting on the books early or doing an off-season inspection. My fireplace is up and running, but I plan to get a level 2 inspection to have more knowledge and peace of mind about the house. In hindsight, I should have gotten a nicer log set, but I wanted to keep costs down in case I had to spend more on repairs."

"We were very impressed with the work. Steve, who owns the company, was on site with another worker. We were impressed, since he has other trucks operating in the area. They did a super job, inspecting our chimney and cleaning it. Even showed us video of our chimney and made suggestions on other repairs that should be done. There was no "hard sell" but he was very specific about some minor repairs that would provide more energy efficiency. He was very professional and the work was done efficiently and cleanly. "Detroit City Sweep came to two of my properties to repair a total of three fireplaces. They did a fine job repairing one gas fireplace and adding caps to my chimney. I had a second gas fireplace that they needed to order a part for. I had to call them half a dozen times to get them to order the part and come back to the house to install it. When they finally did, it turns out they ordered the wrong part. After multiple calls they came out a second time, and again, it was the wrong part. Three weeks passed and on the third visit they brought the wrong part again and said the correct part was going to cost me twice what they originally quoted. I would like to recommend Detroit City Sweep, but I just can't."

"I found the tech to be very professional and very thorough about explaining what needed to be done and how long it would probably take once a decision was made on either repairing or replacement. All parts were ordered and he arrived and completed the project within 2 1/2 three hours at the most. He was very professional.
