- Sun Home ImprovementFrom start to finish the job was completed with attention to detail, on budget and on time. The trim installers (Chris and Danny) were fantastic. They took their time and cared for the project like it was their own house. It was a big project. I had all outside exposed wood covered in trim and/or vinyl soffit. I can't thank Sun Home enough. During the gutter installtion a small piece of the trim was dented and it wasn't a huge problem but the job was done so well that I asked for it to be replaced. This happended, by the way, when a second crew, not Chris and Danny installed the gutters. On final inspection I showed Dave ( saleperson and delightful man) and he said give him a few days and they would take care of it. Like clockwork, he sent Chris back out and took care of it. To Chris, Danny, Rob and Dave, I thank you all for a well-done project from start to finish. I highly recommend Sun Home!

- Somerset Painting & Professional ImprovementsI highly recommend Somerset Painting. Here’s why: Our project consisted of two parts: carpentry and paint. We needed to replace about 200 sq.ft. of second level wood siding which had deteriorated over the years. It was not an easy job, because the lower level roof cut across at an angle, so each new panel had to be cut to fit then hauled up and put in place. Also, about 3,000 sq.ft. of wood siding and overhangs on the rest of our house needed painting. Most of the work was completed in one long day, which minimized the disruption. This was through hard work, not cutting corners. Julian and crew were justifiably proud of the end result. The new siding and paint look terrific. Careful prep work meant joint lines that are crisp and clean. In addition, the paint process, which consisted of spray, back-roll, and follow-up spray to blend the painted area, resulted in a very smooth appearance, including under the overhangs. Rick Hartsell, the founder of Somerset Painting, took on our project with just a handshake. A deposit was not required. His confidence that we would be happy upon completion was a deciding factor in our decision to hire them. Our house looks like new

"It is pretty unsettling when you allow a company to create a bunch of holes in your house to install replacement windows. You hope you can trust them to have restored the integrity of your home when they are finished. Sun Home Improvement provided quality replacements windows that were a huge improvement. But what really impressed me was how the company stood behind their product and services. Had two problems. A window had been broken in shipment. It happens. They contacted me and said they had already ordered a replacement to install as soon as it arrives. Second problem was the patio door had a flaw in the glass that was not easy to see but cracked several weeks after installation. I sent them a picture of the crack. They ordered a replacement door and installed it with no hassle. Problems happen. What you want is a company that makes it right when problems come up. "Honest, reliable and best roofing company. We had Advance Roofing and another company do Roof leak repair. Both did not hold up, it started leaking more. Both companies did not explain well and Advance Roofing charged almost $1K and the other company half that. Saw all the good reviews about Renaissance roofing and called them, the lady that scheduled the appointment was very pleasant and told me upfront they charge $95 to inspect the leak and if they repair they will take it off the final bill. Don showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He showed me pictures of damage and where the problem was. I know Advance roofing did nothing in the area where the issue was found. The other company did something there but did not do it correctly, they added more caulk causing more leak. Don diagnosed it properly, fixed all the issues and tested it. The other two companies I asked for pictures and they would not share it with me. Another couple of companies I called tried to rip me off by saying my roof is bad and needs total roof replacement (they send sales people,not repair person) and i asked them how much they charge for new rood and quoted ridiculous amount for roof replacement (I researched online and with neighbors and I know for the size of my home it should not cost more than $7K to $13K), by the way my roof is only 11 years old. I am extremely happy with the way he repaired it, the explanation and pictures of the repair gives me reassurance. Finally I found an honest business. I highly recommend Renaissance Roofing for all your roofing needs. Out of 5 I want to give them 10 stars. Thank you so much Don. Appreciate it.

"It was certainly a pleasure dealing with a well run family owned company. The owner of the company himself came out to give you an estimate he was honest down to earth and I can’t say enough good things about him and his company.
Regarding the workers and the work that was done it was top-notch they cleaned up, they were very professional if it wasn’t for the weather they would’ve had the job done in the specified 2 to 3 days. But of course here in Michigan they had to work around the weather.

"Whew, there's a lot to unpack here. Initially, we loved Renaissance Contracting & Roofing. Randy was our salesman and he was amazing, very thorough with our estimate for a new roof, gutters, and trim on window. He took the time to memorize all of our kids names, always called when he said he would, and even helped unload groceries to our house while picking up one of our payments. Shawn was our assigned Project Manager, he failed to call us back when he said he would, and always failed to communicate everything. When it came time to have our roof installed, some of the crew was wearing Victors Roofing shirts and the other were wearing dressy button up shirts. We were taken back that they were wearing another companies shirts and mentioned our concerns to Shawn, who brushed them off. From what I can tell the actual roof job seems to be done well, but I'm not sure, as I'm not a professional. Mentioned this to Randy whom seemed very disappointed for us, then we told we'd be assigned a new project manager to finish our job. Bruce was the assigned to our project, but he also lacked the skills to properly communicate to us. He never called back when he said he would, our gutters were installed a day shy of 3 weeks from roof install. But it took me calling numerous times to finally get ours scheduled, and now we are still waiting on the trim to be installed around our back window. This is a simple job, but we don't have the breaker machine to bend the trim or we would have done it ourself. We thought this would be the easiest job, but the contractor he originally thought never called hime back and yesterday we had a no show on a contractor that was supposed to show up. When I called Bruce this morning, he still can't tell me when someone will be out to our house. He is also supposed to shorten our standard 4' gutter spout to a 2' like we had mentioned to Shawn originally, the message never got relayed to him apparently. He has yet to come out and fix the error made, and can't give us a set date. This has been a communication nightmare.

"Received a quote from Chuck last September & when I called in March, they said they’d be out to do the porch repair for the same price, as soon as it was warm enough. A couple weeks later, I received a call on a Friday from Chad saying he’d be able to start work that Monday. He and another guy removed and replaced the large, busted steps without damaging my existing wooden railing, patched and replaced pieces of the cement cap, adding a clean, fresh layer of cement on top, filling a bunch of cracks between bricks that had settled, and reattaching my downspout. These guys went above and beyond and had most of it done in one day. An added bonus - I worked from home that day, and I barely heard a peep. Very respectful, mindful of my property and neighbors. Good-looking, fast work for a reasonable price.
