However, typically, you would install plumbing and electrics first, then insulation and drywall, before moving on to the flooring, cabinetry, and countertops. Appliances usually go in last. In most cases, it’s more affordable to refinish your cabinets than replace them, with refinishing costs averaging $3,000 and replacement costs around $9,000. They’re much less expensive than new soft-close hinges and are simpler to install. However, they don’t always last as long.
