KSI Kitchen & Bath

KSI installed the master bathroom in 2019 of the home we bought in 2022. It was clear there was a prior repair requested by the previous owners as water damage appeared in the exact same ceiling spot, but KSI will not communicate how they made a “repair” and the owners did not know the details. KSI initially told us they would charge a service call fee to take a look, and then suddenly the contractor could no longer help as he was out of state for an extended period. My husband and father-in-law looked into the damage root cause by going up through the ceiling where the water damage occurred, finding significant and extensive water damage from 3-4 years of the shower system leaking through the plywood. This is a week after not using the shower. Then it’s two days later after it has dried out some. Then we removed the shower glass and curb to review from the top of the shower - the entire waterproofing system was installed incorrectly and multiple systems combined. We’ve been told that the warranty period is over and does not extend to new homeowners, but the previous owners who completed this renovation brought this to KSI’s attention during the warranty period. This is very disappointing as we are sure the previous homeowners trusted KSI. We’ve found that they subcontract out the labor and do not take care to ensure proper permits are in place as required. Mark LaRouche has done many of their bathroom installs as communicated by Mike Gregart, and I would be aware of the quality of the shower install if he has completed your work without proper permitting. Mike communicated that the subcontractor would be required to acquire any permits and that is not KSI’s responsibility. I also saw on a Livonia location review that the bathroom vent fans were not routed through the roof - they did the same at this house. We are fortunate that there is not mold in the attic from this. We have been dealing with this for nearly two weeks at this point - they even cc’d their CFO on our emails. There have been no replies and ability to address the situation other than that they cannot share previous details as the contract was not with us. While I understand that, they have made zero effort to correctly remedy this situation and cover any cost to repair. It is a beautiful shower and the master bathroom designed by Sandra was a key selling point on this home. It is unfortunate that KSI did not monitor the install to ensure the bathroom could be enjoyed for years to come and that I have to write a public review for a situation that could have been swiftly addressed.

I love it and would change nothing

The project went well. Joe, our design consultant, was knowledgeable and we enjoyed working with him. He responded quickly to our phone calls and answered our questions in a timely manner. The quartz and corian vendors he contracted with were timely and pleasant. The technicians who measured the counter tops acted in a professional manner. We were pleased with the installation of the counter tops and would contract with KSI again.

We worked with Jim McVeigh of the Macomb office.  He worked with us on design of the kitchen and all associated choices, as well as a fireplace surround (we were replacing a current gas fireplace, and wanted cabinets surrounding it to give it a built-in look, sans any top cabinets, so we had ample room for a big TV).  Jim was fantastic.  He helped us make choices that kept the budget in check, while still achieving the overall look we were going for.  He really helped on the fireplace cabinet design, selecting cabinets sizes/styles that worked for my storage needs (albums, CDs, DVDs, etc.) and sized appropriately for the space.  He even went the extra mile to meet with the fireplace sales/install office to ensure all the measurements were accurate  for proper installation, safety, and achieve the plan.   We did our own deconstruction and removal of the cabinets.  Mike Falzetta was our general contractor, who works with KSI often, and he was also fantastic.  He met with us before we got the final quote to ensure he understood all our requirements.  We removed can lights in the living/dining space adding different lights and new ceiling fans in different places, reconfigured the soffits (removal was too risky to the budget), reconstructed a small opening into the living/dining space making it much larger, in addition to all the work associated with the kitchen and fireplace install.  Work began on time, Mike and his team were trustworthy professionals and consummate craftsmen.  They were there when they said they would be, worked hard, communicated with us on any issue, cleaned up after themselves, and really made this as pleasant an experience being without a kitchen could be.  We did our own painting, worked with a separate contractor for flooring installation, and did our own tile backsplash.  Mike and crew worked very well with us, giving us ample notice on what was coming next, what we needed to do when, and Jim kept tabs on it all as well.  Mike's crew is the best in the business, if you ask me.  We had nothing but happy surprises (the opening into the living area ended up larger than we expected), and were tickled with the final outcome for both areas.  Both spaces are gorgeous and we are happy with all our choices, and Jim for helping us get our vision right.  I would absolutely work with KSI and Mike Falzetta again.

KSI was very professional and effective.  Work came off right on schedule.  One problem came up after all materials were on site.  They worked very well with us to arrive at a great resolution that frankly looks better than was planned.

We liked that the quote was broken down by each step that was done.  The work was completed earlier than we anticipated. The workers came out on the days promised and did not make a mess of my kitchen.  My kitchen looks amazing now.

I worked with Sandra at KSI -- She listened to what I wanted, suggested changes but never tried to sell me something I didn't need and in fact talked me out of spending money that she thought was unnecessary.  She was fabulous to work with. Jeff was my installer and he was also great to work with.  He was prompt, professional, and communicated with me throughout the entire remodel with any changes, etc.  The project timing was quoted as 3-4 wks., and was completed in 3 wks.

Worked with Jim McVeigh from KSI and Mike Falzetta, the owner of KSI's recommended install company.  KSI was one of four that I contacted to quote this job and KSI was the only one who offered to work with me to get me exactly what I wanted when I wanted within my budget.  This was a complete gut job and redesign of the space as well as the adjoining bedroom closet on one side and a new pass through door to the master on the other side.  I did purchase some of the materials on my own to save costs, but they were great about installing everything to my needs.  There were a couple glitches, as there always are in projects, but they were handled quickly and professionally.  Thank you Jim and Mike!
BTW...I gave a B, but would have given a B+ if was possible.

I needed a narrow cabinet to fit in my Small bathroom . Could not find the right size in the big box stores. I went into ksi on a whim and was treated very professionally.  Jim was very patient and helpful even though all I needed was one small cabinet for my bathroom. When I received my cabinet, I couldn't believe how beautiful it was and the quality far exceeded anything I could find at the big box  stores. I have since moved, so now I have to start all over again with my bathrooms, but I will be going back to ksi for my next project.

KSI was the third design team I interviewed for my project.  I chose them because I liked the designer Jim McVeigh.  He listened to what I wanted, came up with a great design and was very responsive.  Once the design  phase was over, the project manager Mike Falzetta took over.  I found him to be exceptionally professional and detail oriented.  During the demolition, they found several "surprises" but Mike handled them and kept the project moving.  The finished project is exquisite!

From the start KSI provided a wonderful experience, my salesperson Jim McV was friendly, helpful and provided us with all the information we needed to get this dream kitchen started. We met a few times to get the design and choices made then he provided us with a 3 D design and quote. We felt comfortable with the price for everything we would receive and moved forward with a meeting at our home. We met Mike F. who would do the bulk of the work and he really made us feel comfortable with moving ahead with this job. They started right on time and Mike F. showed up promptly every morning and his work was flawless, he completed each day cleaning up and leaving us with little mess. Mikes work exceeded our expectations and his installation of all the cabinets, moldings, were a perfect fit! Mike did all the electrical, plumbing, patching the drywall, and installed the appliances. I've never had anyone do such quality work in my home. Gent installed our tile floor and did a beautiful job, very meticulous about his work. Our painter Jessy did a really nice job and the counter top installers from Solid surfaces were very professional and did a wonderful job. Jim Mc V kept in touch with us during the whole process and stopped by to see or help with the job. We couldn't of asked for a better experience, it was one of the largest ( plus expensive) jobs we've ever had done to our 27 year old home and it was a pleasure.

The prices of KSI Kitchen and Bath Showrooms were reasonable. They were great and patient. They were professional, friendly, helpful and wonderful. They were on top of everything. 

Their workmanship was excellent. They built a cabinet to match the other cabinets in our kitchen. The match was very good as far as the staining and style. They just made the cabinet and we worked with their sales people. We did the installation. I would use them again in the future.

The process of working with Jim, (salesman), and Jeff, (installer), couldn't have gone more smoothly.
During the planning stage, had several meetings with both. They were always on time and immediately provided feedback with any questions we asked via e-mail. The design layout evolved to meet all of our requests with the help of many suggestions from Jim. 
The timing for the project start was adjusted to work around when we had company in town.
The work itself proceeded exactly as planned There were no surprises. Jeff kept us informed every step through the project.

I had shopped every option - from 'big box' stores, to private cabinet makers - and decided that KSI had multiple advantages.  Their pricing was very competitive, their cabinet & countertop options were plentiful, but the major deciding factor was working with Sandra their consultant.

She listened to my requests, explored ALL options, then provided an insightful, onsite consultation.  Their quotation included a 3D design layout to help visualize all options, and ensure accuracy of install.

Mike and his multi-skilled install team were eager to please and very collaborative.  They not only did a great job installing the high quality cabinets, but did a masterful job refinishing walls, ceilings, plumbing, and painting.

Completed prior to the holidays, I could not be happier with KSI results.  Their professionalism, eye for details, and first class recommendations were greatly appreciated.  I can highly recommend them to friends & family

KSI did an outstanding job on the design and choice of cabinets.   We interated the design a couple of times until we settled on what met our needs and budget.  What we ulimately choose to purchase have been wonderful to use. The cabinets and parts order was complete and the one shortfall (shelves missed) was very quickly addressed.

After a few months, we realized a cabinet door had an issue.  KSI quickly ordered a replacement with no hassell what so ever.

The sales person we worked with in the Livonia Office on Plymouth Road was courtious and professional (Joe). We would go back to KSI if we have any future projects requiring cabinets.

THEY DID A EXTREMELY GOOD JOB. I WAS REALLY PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME OF THIS WHOLE REMODELING PROJECT. THE SUB-CONTRACTORS THAT WERE HIRED ALSO DID A WONDERFUL JOB.
