We are a full scale commercial and residential company. We only send out Master Plumbers and are one of the few in the area who start the clock when we arrive, not when we leave the office. Ask about our credit plan for large jobs. Quality Drain & Plumbing Service provides quality plumbing services to the Battle Creek, MI area. We serve both commercial and residential clients, and we provide fast, dependable service at a fair price. No job is too big or too small; including large scale commercial projects and new construction.

D. Wood Plumbing, LLC, owner operated by Dan Wood III. Family tradition since 1908. Honest and hard working service provided. Service calls to be paid upon completion, accept checks or credit card. Large contracts will be billed on agreed terms.

"We have several rentals in Vicksburg and live on the west coast. Before a recent visit to Kalamazoo a tenant notified me there was water leaking in the ceiling in the garage. We own a Highly Reputable and Highly Rated plumbing company on Angies List in Portland Oregon, with almost 500 5-star reviews. During our visit to town my husband, who has owned a plumbing company for over 30 years, opened the sheetrock and diagnosed the problem, the cartridge needed to be replaced. Ferguson, the local plumbing supply house is closed on the weekend, so we were unable to replace it ourselves while in town. Upon returning to Portland, I contacted Dan Wood and explained we had a Kohler cartridge that needed to be replaced. I scheduled an appointment with Dan Wood. I was told upfront what the "call out fee" was and what their "diagnosis" fee was. I explained I did not need I diagnose; I am telling you what the diagnosis is. They charged me a diagnosis fee anyway. FYI, I have sent them an invoice from our company to them for our service in diagnosing the issue. The appointment was set for Monday the 26th of April. I was also told by the dispatch I would receive a call, as well as my tenant, when the plumber was on his way. Well, this never happened. My tenant called me around noon my time on Friday the 23rd and said the plumber was there, no-one contacted me. My tenant was notified they wanted to come on Friday instead of Monday, not me. I had given Dan Wood my CC# at time of making the appointment, yet my tenant called me because the plumber was concerned about payment. I was never given a price for the work by Dan Wood nor an invoice, just a charge on my credit card. A Kohler cartridge cost around $65 and takes less than an hour to complete the task. The wages for a union plumber in Portland Oregon are $78 an hour and the average price for a started home is about $500K. We charge $450 to replace a cartridge including the cartridge, our cost of living is double that of Kalamazoo, we were charged $492 total rip off. I cannot believe they have been in business for decades based on their deceptive practices."

"Plumbing issue during the week became an urgent need on a Sunday. I called Zimmerman, who answered the phone right away. They referred me to their partner, Roto-Rooter, since my issue sounded like a clogged pipe. Zimmerman called me when they notified a technician and when that person was on their way. The technician, Steven, arrived in less than an hour and was AWESOME. Steven had excellent customer service, was professional, polite, knowledgeable and reassured me that my issue would be identified and solved rapidly, which immediately decreased my anxiety level, since I live alone and had never dealt with this before. He listened to my issues, quickly identified that a pipe was clogged and where the clog was, and in less than 1/2 hr. he had opened the system up. He answered all my questions, teaching me what to watch for, how the system works. He worked efficiently and didn't leave until he was sure that all was working properly. He took special care to keep everything clean, and disinfected as he finished. This was the 1st time I have needed such a service and I would not hesitate to call Zimmerman or Roto-Rooter the next time an issue arises. The whole experience was a positive one from the time I 1st called, which calmed me down during this crisis. Thank you."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

It’s generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. In most cases, the level of sewer gas you’re exposed to in a home will be low enough to only cause minor symptoms, though high levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous. If you’re smelling sewer gas in your home, it’s important to locate, assess, and fix the problem, because it won’t go away on its own.

Yes, many services include camera inspections to identify the cause of the blockage. Confirm with your provider.

Some signs that your main sewer line is clogged are easy to spot, like when water backs up into your showers, sinks, and toilets for no apparent reason. However, some indicators are more subtle. The most common signs that you may have a clogged sewer main include:

  • Gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilet

  • Water in your basement drain or in the lawn

  • Smell of raw sewage throughout your home

  • Other found odors like rotten eggs around your home

Ideally, you might find that you only need to clean the sewer line or remove a clog from the main line. That costs $200 to $300. However, “sewer main clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear, depending on what is causing the clog, distance from accessible cleanouts to the clog, and whether there is occupied space below the clogged line (apartment buildings, condos, etc.),” says Botelho.

If you’ll be digging up your floor to get access to your pipes when putting in a sewer backflow preventer, this would also be a good time to take care of any other plumbing issues or renovations. For example, you could install additional pipes for a basement bathroom. Since the floor will be sealed over with concrete when you’re done, now’s a good time to take care of those bigger tasks.
