Very professional and friendly
They provided an inspection. This went really well. The septic tank was collapsing. They provided a new septic tank. The representative took the time to explain the situation to me and answer my questions. After the septic tank was replaced, the dirt was smoothed over and it looked very good.
It has been a couple of weeks and everything is draining very well! Very pleased with the service.
We called Roto Rooter because we were having problems with the toilet flushing, and were worried that our outside drain might be plugged up. A plumber came when he was supposed to, asked if the toilet was the only thing we were having problems with, to which we said, yes. He determined that it was probably just the toilet and not the outside line, something it seems he could have told us on the phone before he came.
He checked the toilet, said there were lime deposits keeping the water from filling the bowl, and also that the insides of the tank were old and should be replaced, which he proceeded to do. (We could have done this ourselves and saved a lot of money)
He finished his work, the toilet seemed to be working OK. We paid him $285.77, which could not be paid with a check, had to be paid with a credit or debit card.
Later, my husband noticed that the water continued leaking out into the bowl instead of staying in the tank, and upon checking the parts that were put in, felt that the wrong size parts were used. He called Roto Rooter, and was told that those were the correct parts.
My husband had to adjust the flapper? to make the water stop running, so you now have to hold the handle down the get enough water to flush the toilet. (our new reality)
Now, in addition to that, (pardon the word here) but poop won't go down 95% of the time without plunging. So, I'm asking myself why we paid almost $300.00 to fix the toilet, when we could have bought a new one for that amount of money.
He sent us a paid invoice, which added that there was "no guarantee". Why wouldn't you guarantee your work???
Not happy--
PLEASE AVOID THIS SERVICE. I PAID THE 200 to GET MY DRAINS CLEANED ONLY TO HAVE DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAPS THAT, HAD HE BEEN HONEST WOULD HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM STRAIGHT OFF. SHAME ON ME. I HAD THEM OUT ONCE BEFORE AND THE TECH TOLD ME THEN THAT THEY CHAT UP THE CLIENTS BECAUSE THEY CHARGE BY THE QUARTER OF AN HOUR. BUYER BEWARE.
The person who scheduled the same day appointment was very pleasant and the technician,Frank, was a steady, efficient worker who accomplished the root removal in a timely manner. Unfortunately that did not solve the toilet flushing problem. He next set about determining how to correct it. It turned out the toilet needed a number of parts replaced to function properly (fill valve, wax ring, flex line, floor bolts and caps) which he effectively accomplished.
I thought the price charged was fair for the work performed.
I have problem with water pressure and just bought my house. I thought maybe the drains were clogged. The young man came on time, looked around-- changed the innards of two toilets and tried cleaning the sink faucet with a paper clip. The entire time he was super chatty. As it turns out, the longer they stay -- the more they charge! They charge in 15 minute increments and are told to stay busy! Essentially, the house is just old and hence the water pressure issue. Over $200 later -- I did not get anything I could not have done myself for $20 and a trip to Lowes or True Value!
He used his big RotoRooter machine, and pretty much cleared the drain, getting out paper towels, Lysol wipes, and some cloth. Hhe did that pretty efficiently, and seemed to know what he was talking about. Afterward he cleaned up, at least as far as he found it. I was satisfied with the service.
The bill was to be 2 to 3 hundred dollars, and surpise! It was 300. I thought the job should have been amoung the easier to do, and pulling up the toilet was his suggestion, not mine. I expect the whole operation was about two hours. So I was not pleased with the invoice he wrote up, but paid it nonetheless.
PRICING WITH $25.00 PHONE BOOK COUPON WAS @ $200.00, SEEMED IN LINE FOR WORK DONE. WAS HOPING FOR SOMETHING IN THE $150.00 RANGE. THEY HAVE A $65.00 TRIP CHARGE AND THEN AN ADDITIONAL PER HOUR FEE.
