- Pool BustersPool Busters did an amazing job in completing the difficult removal of our pool. In addition to doing a great job in removing what had become an eyesore especially in the winter and giving us back a beautiful green back yard, they were professional, nice and easy to work with. They clear in setting expectations for the project and daily work. Pool Busters, handled all of the permitting and inspections. They brought in all of the equipment needed to remove and haul away the pool materials, concrete, rebar and drainage. The coordination of delivering and speed in replacing the hole with fill dirt was impressive and made the job go very quickly. They then added top soil in preparation for landscaping. They cleaned the work site at the end of each day, including sweeping a neighbor’s driveway. This was not an easy pool removal due to the size and location of the pool and we were prepared for the worst; noise, mess and impact to the surrounding landscaping. Although it was a big job with noise and mess, Pool Busters did an outstanding job in minimizing the mess and impact to the existing yard. The result after a couple of hectic days is a beautiful backyard that we can enjoy year round
- Pool Busters04/23/13 Crew showed up on time after making sure Miss Dig marked the gas lines and pulled the permit; the pool was 50% gone on the first day and removed completely by the second day. Removing the associated equipment and filling the hole was done on the days following. Progress was made every single day. The hole was properly inspected by the City of Sterling Heights and then filled in by Pool Busters. When the topsoil was laid, Pool Busters called me to let me know I needed more than was originally recommended. I agreed (it cost an extra $975 but was worth it) and a good quality topsoil was put in place. The first completely dry day we had after the work started was 05/01, and the contractor Pool Busters authorized to replace a section of city sidewalk was here and put in the new sidewalk panels. I am really delighted we made this decision. An inground pool is a huge expense. We spent $18,000 fixing it in 1993, and it would have cost $12,000 to remodel it this year. When we used to heat it, that cost $900 a year. We stopped doing that when the heater broke. Our sand filter needed replacing, and that would have been another $1,000. Each year, opening and closing the pool cost approximately $700, and chemicals cost us another $500 or so per year. It added a great deal to our electric bill each summer to run the pump

Builders of custom designed indoor and outdoor in ground gunite pools, hot tubs, fountains and water features.
"They came out first thing in the morning Mon 6/23, and did a pressure test ($200) to find where the leak was in my pool. The leak was identified, but he did not have the tools to repair it with him. They came back out first thing the next morning, dug down to the pipes and spliced in a new piece ($175) where the old one was cracked. They were prompt, professional, and pleasant. He was more than willing to answer any and all questions I had. I wish they had a store-front, they would be the only place I would go to for all my pool needs. I will gladly use them again, and recommend them to anyone who needs pool work.
<br /> *NOTE - This should have been a more expensive repair, as they charge somewhere between $130-$150 per hour, and the pipe was under a piece of cement. I rented a jackhammer from HD and broke out the concrete myself which took ~2hrs. So when they came to fix the leak, the most time consuming part was done.
<br /> The only reason I gave them a and quot;Band quot; for responsiveness was because I had called/emailed once before, and got no response. I had tried to contact 4 different places on the same day, with no response from any of them. When I tried again, Gillette was the only one to answer the phone.

"Jeff is very busy this time of year, but would make time to call me with up-dates, for example waiting on materials, rain-out and re-schedule. If rain was fairly mild, workers kept right on working. All workers were respectful, and wanted to make my elderly parents happy. Mom was especially happy that her rose bushes which were anniversary presents from dad were able to be salvaged. Dad passed away during the project, and Jeff and crew were very respectful of our situation.

"Tim quoted me a price to replace our liner. The price was competitive based on exact pictures and serial number for previous liner we used on past installations. Our pool is 28 yrs old. Well when he came out the price increased from $3700 to $3900 for no reason except he was saying this was a worst case scenario. So I signed contract with him even though I had more favorable quotes. At the time he told me all new face plates to liner would be replaced. I figured unless there was major floor issues or plumbing issues that would be it. I was home while he was replacing liner n he said my 28 yr old pool was in excellent condition. I figured the original quote of $3700 would be good. However when he pulled off faceplate for shallow end walk in steps he broke the faceplate for liner to walk plastic face plate. He told me that’s an extra $200. I told him he quoted me all faceplates will be replaced w new n that his quote was for a not to exceed of $3900. He stammered n finally told me well how’s an extra $50. I told him no. U quoted me $3700 n for no reason raised it to $3900. I signed for a not to exceed of $3900 and he wanted an extra $50. He was unprofessional and p*****. Faceplates were included n he says well not this faceplate. How was I to know since u told me verbally all faceplates. Then he told me this faceplate can only be reused once. I told him previously my liner was replaced so this was 3rd time so he should have figured that in his quote since I had a more favorable quote and would not have chosen him if I knew he was just going to escalate the price. Anyway he left the job with stickers remaining in my pool under 70 deg water and a piece of coping not installed on pool outer perimeter. He asked me to stay home all day while pool drained. He told me to I had to shut off power to his cheap low power pump that took 8 hours to drain my pool so his pump didn’t burn out. I wasted a day worrying about his cheap pump. He also left a big box I had to spend a 1/2 hour cutting up to fit in my recycle bin n didn’t take away my old liner which he filled up my garbage receptacle. Overall the liner looks good however he didn’t do 1/2 what other guys did when my liner was replaced previously. His tactic is bait u in n switch u to a higher price. It didn’t have to go this way. I’m very upset by his unprofessionalism and lack of living up to his original quote. His quote was for $3700 and I paid him $3900 and he still wanted an extra $50 after he originally surprised me w an extra $200. When I balked at that request he said well how about an extra $50. I said no. The job went very smooth and it only took 2 guys 4-5 hours maximim to replace a liner that cost them less than $2000 with faceplates their costs. My point is their quote is not what they will eventually want. They are a bait n switch outfit.

"The Pool Guys were pretty good. I got everything done that I wanted done but it was bit expensive and took a while. Schedule it as early as you can because it is going to take time. It took probably about 45 days trying to get subcontractors in here to do the different work and all that stuff. I am extremely happy with how it came out.
