"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. "I was extremely pleased with my experience with Blind Cleaning Services. Dave was the person I called to inquire about their services and also the one who came to take down the blinds, take them back to the shop and clean them, and then he brought them back the next day (they have another person who makes any repairs). Dave was very pleasant both on the phone as well as when he came to my house,. It was evident to me that he knew what he was doing when he took the blinds down and put them back. I couldn't ask for a nicer person to do the job! To schedule my appointment, I talked to Lori who was very accomodating with me on scheduling the service. And Lori also called me the next day when Dave would return with the blinds. She, too, was very pleasant on the phone. "The only reason I had it done was because my son loves this couch. It is a very long two section couch. She came and took meticulous measurements and then came back once after the initial measure. <br /> <br /> It was just excellent. The price is on the high end, but their sales are good. &nbsp;You can go in there with a picture and measurements, and they will give you a ballpark price. They are easy to work with. If I could afford them I would use them all of the time.

"We contracted with Oscar Draperies to make custom draperies for our den. The company owner, Mel Bakalar, took all measurements prior to making the draperies. Upon completion of the work however we saw the draperies hung at varying lengths and did not reach the floor as we had requested. We immediately complained about the lengths, and he advised us that they would drop and become longer in several days. He then advised us to pull down on the drapes to stretch them. For more than two months the draperies remained their original length. When we called to advise the owner he insisted he had taken correct measurements and huing up the phone. We immediately called him and requested he take corrective action and once again he hung up the phone. The following day, he left a phone message stating there was nothing wrong with draperies and were measured and hung properly. No resolution to date.

"Exceptionally well. We were concerned that sanding the textured paint off the walls would create a huge dust mess to clean up however the sander was attached to a large vacuum and the dust issue was 95% mitigated and easily wiped away. Physical install of the pocket door, framing went well and door looks and works perfectly giving privacy to 2nd and 3rd bedrooms and 2nd bath without the original swing door intrusion. Highly recommend Penar Improvements, Also be prepared to discuss the project and requirements with Mr. Penar, he knows his business and will gladly share constructive suggestions on how to complete the job with the best final result.
