"Met with 5 different roofers for an estimate, but these guys were the most thorough, very cool technology for us to see video of our roof, inside the attack view, so we could see what was needed. Kyle, our rep, was very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us on things we didn't need, worked to make it affordable for our options. Then Justin and the crew came and did an awesome job replacing the roof in one day. Highly recommend!"

"Long Roofing went above and beyond when installing our roof and gutter. The job turned out more difficult than we thought it would be but Long Roofing made me feel comfortable and reassured that they would fix everything. Everyone involved from the salesperson to customer service listened to our needs and treated me with respect. The roof looks amazing. I don't want to get into price, but even though you may get someone less expensive, using Log Roofing was well worth a little extra cost"

"It went incredibly well. I woke up one morning to a leak in my roof. I knew the roof was going to need to be replaced at some point, but I was hoping I'd get another year out of it. The roof was in bad shape when I bought the house. I immediately started calling all of the roofing companies I could find on Google. It was early so I was leaving voicemails. Kasey from James and Whitney was the first and only one to get back to me in a timely manner. He was incredibly helpful on the phone, walking me through how to put a tarp over the impacted area. He even swung by later THAT DAY to check and make sure it was installed properly and to assess the roof. I knew it needed to be replaced so we went right into talking about estimates. The estimate was within my budget but the new roof came with a FIFTY-YEAR WARRANTY for parts and labor. You just can't beat that kind of warranty on an asphalt roof. We were scheduled within a week and I had a brand new, perfectly installed roof within a month. Kasey and his team were super respectful during the installation. When the installation had finished, Kasey inspected every inch of my property to pick up any tiny bits of trash and leave our lawn spotless. The whole process was so easy and stress-free. 10/10 would recommend!"

"it went great. After I called them, I didn't have to wait a long time for an appointment. The gentlemen providing the service was professional and courteous. He didn't try to sell me something I didn't need but made me aware of the overall condition of the roof."

"May 10, 2022 Clear Choice We schedule the installing of the roof on May 6, 2022. The supplies and dumpster were delivered May 5. The crews of 8 show up at 7 AM on the May 6. They started right away by lay tarps completely around the house. They had the roof stripped by 8:15. They found the porch eaves had some minor water damage. This causes a little delay until the plywood arrived for repair of the porch roof. That did not stop the crews from working on the rest of the roof. They clean up the old shingles. After the porch roof was repair they shingle the rest of the roof. Finish cleaned up the old shingles and folded up the tarps. They went around with a magnetic roller to pick up any nails left behind. They left around 1:15 PM job completed. This is a very professional crews and work very hard. â GREAT JOBâ With the Clear Choice supervisor we did a walk around. Sum minor damage to the flowers but that was expected. I am completely satisfied with the workmanship and the company. I would highly remind Clear Choice for a roof replacement."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Complete house winterization goes above and beyond the list we created above. In addition to everything listed, full house winterization also includes:

  • Performing a home energy audit.

  • Preparing your deck and patio for winter.

  • Learning how to start a snowblower.

  • Replacing smoke detector batteries.

  • Installing outlet gaskets.

  • Installing storm doors.

Tile and shingle roofs both have their pros and cons. In general, tile roofs are a larger upfront investment. In some cases, they can cost twice as much as shingles, but they last much longer and generally hold their value better than shingle roofs. Shingle roofs, on the other hand, are budget-friendly and quicker to install.

If you’re choosing between a roof overlay and a tear-off, opt for a tear-off and full roof replacement instead of a roof overlay if possible. The cost savings from an overlay can easily be eclipsed by repair costs, the effects of structural damage from the additional weight, and needing to replace your roof sooner than expected. A full replacement will last longer and is less likely to need damage repaired over time.

Flapping shingles, or shingles that are lifting or curling away from your roof, can be glued back into place using roofing cement or sealant. Apply the glue underneath the shingle, then press it down firmly. You can leave a brick on top of the shingle to hold it in place overnight while the sealant dries.

This will depend on your existing roof to some degree, but it’s common to raise a roof 4 to 8 feet. The exact amount you can raise is subject to the existing structure. For most homes with average roof slopes—20 to 45 degrees—you can raise the roof around 5 feet.
