"Eric did a fantastic job installing our new bathroom fan. He was courteous, honest, and clearly knows his trade. The fan is quiet and works beautifully. It’s such a relief to find someone reliable and skilled. We will definitely use Angell Electrical again! Highly recommend."

"First, at the beginning of the summer season in a tourist town, they were able to fit me in two business days from my call. The issue was complex and after a lot of diagnostics, they determined that a wire had to be installed from the outlet to the ceiling light, replacing one that had failed. I imagined a mess and that I'd have to spend time patching and painting. 30 minutes later, I had a new wire, new box in my ceiling (which actually supported the modern light fixture, and they had cleaned up and put everything back. They found a novel way to get into the ceiling (behind a vent hood) so that you'd never know they were there. My second time with RGS and a second win - reasonable pricing, fast, efficient, and informative."

"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

If you’ve gone through the troubleshooting checklist for your motion detector flood light and it’s still not working, it’s time to consider a new one. Older models that need frequent fixes can be unreliable. Newer flood lights feature advanced technology that improves your lights’ sensitivity and overall performance. If you’re fed up with unexpected darkness, investing in a new light can give you the lighting you need to feel secure.

Options include pathway lights, spotlights, and smart lighting systems. Choose based on function and aesthetics.

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.

Installing outdoor lighting can increase your home’s value by up to $2,500. The average ROI on landscape lighting is around 50%, but how much your home increases depends on the market, the type of lighting, and whether you have a strong strategy for your landscaping lighting project. LED and solar lighting may offer the highest ROIs.
