"Troy and Cyr septic did a great job. I found Troy to be honest, straight forward and willing to get right in there and get the job done. I was most impressed that Troy was willing to drop everything he was doing when I contacted him on Sunday. He showed up, assessed the situation and created a plan of action and quote. All the prep work was done on Monday, then we had to wait for a pumping service which took a few days. Troy was back that afternoon after the tank was pumped to finish the job. In the end Troy collected exactly what he quoted for the job and my tank was repaired"

"Came when they said they would. Did the job efficiently and thoroughly, explained the probable cause and how to avoid it. Quote was half the amount the other service I contacted quoted as thier base fee ($170 vs $345) and that is what they charged."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

To determine the right size for your submersible well pump, find your well depth, water demand, and well casing diameter. The pump should match your well's specifications and meet or exceed your drawdown and pressure requirements.

For precise sizing, make sure to research the different well pump sizes, consult the manufacturer's recommendations, or seek guidance from a professional well pump installer.

Yes, a septic tank riser can replace a concrete septic tank lid. Risers are designed to replace various types of septic tank covers, including concrete, metal, and fiberglass, to provide easier access for pumping and repairs. While a plastic riser makes future access more convenient, the initial replacement can be difficult because concrete lids are very heavy, so it is a job best left to professionals. Once installed, you will need to be cautious around the riser during yard work, such as mowing, to avoid causing damage.

Both materials are suitable for septic tanks, but concrete usually lasts longer than plastic. If you’re buying a new tank, the prices are similar for plastic ($500 to $2,500) and concrete ($700 to $2,000). However, there’s a notable difference in repair prices, with plastic tank repair costs ranging from $150 to $2,000, while concrete repairs are between $700 and $5,000.

A septic alarm can sound different depending on your system, but often, it’s a loud, repetitive beeping noise or a steady, high-pitched noise. It may also be a loud buzzing noise. To confirm the noise is your septic alarm, check your alarm box for a red light. You can also silence your alarm with a red button or switch on the box. Look for something that says “Test” or “Mute.”

Septic tank lids may or may not be buried in a yard. Most lids are buried at least 4 inches deep unless you have an aerobic septic system. Aerobic septic systems need frequent cleanings, about every four months, so it’s best to leave these lids aboveground for easier access. For buried lids, homeowners can use risers that make it easier to locate and access a buried septic tank lid.
