"Kevin arrived today for the Spring Preventive Maintenance service on our HVAC system that we purchased a few years ago from Holtzople Heating & Air Conditioning. As always, we received an email and a phone call to let us know when the HVAC technician would be arriving. The Holtzople HVAC technicians are always very professional, clean, thorough, and polite and friendly. They are always willing to answer any questions we have, and their expertise and experience are evident in the excellent service they provide."

"I was looking for a company to replace a 27 yr old HVVAC system that was acquired with the purchase of our new home. I took the time to evaluate and entertain 5 companies with their associated estimates including Deans Heating and Air Conditioning. In my research I found that Deans HVAC had received 5 star reviews from every client for whom they had serviced. After speaking with Mike the owner I was very impressed as he listened to what I was looking for and shared exemplary knowledge on what my HVAC project needed. Mike took time to answer all of my questions in addition to providing the best and most fair estimate in comparison to the other companies I had spoken with. Mike was very thorough and took care to make sure everything was installed with precision and a personal attention to detail. Even though our project had its own unique challenges, Mike and his assistant worked with efficiency and finished in a timely manner. Working with Deans Heating and Air Conditioning was an awesome and rewarding decision as we are very pleased with the installation of our new HVAC system. I would highly recommend Deans HVAC to everyone looking for a knowledgeable, fair priced , caring, and professional company to address their HVAC needs ranging from general services to full HVAC replacement projects. Definitely a FIVE STAR company!!!!!"

"We moved in to a house that did not have up to code GFC receptacle in laundry area nor a equate receptacles in utility/basement/water filtration areas. We also had a broken receptacle box in dining room. The service man was on time, clean, courteous, and hard working. He kept the house & work areas clean w/mat & shoe covers. I originally saw Tim Kyle service men at a supply store. They kindly answered my questions, they were in uniform & clean, plus their vehicle was also clean and not damaged. Other folks in the area recommended the company."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

No. HVAC, which stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, includes all of the systems that work together to regulate a building’s temperature and humidity levels. In comparison, air conditioners only provide cooling. You can have an air conditioner as part of your HVAC system, but not all HVAC systems include air conditioners.

You should clean your air conditioner at least once per year, but you may need to clean your whole HVAC system (including the air ducts) more often. According to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, you may need to clean them more frequently depending on factors like whether you smoke, have pets, or have allergies.

Keeping your air filter clean is crucial for your heat pump's efficiency. As a general rule, you should check your air filter every 1 to 3 months. However, the actual frequency might vary depending on factors like the type of filter, indoor air quality, and the amount of dust and debris in your area. If you notice the filter is visibly dirty or clogged, it's a clear sign it needs attention sooner. Regular filter maintenance ensures proper airflow and helps your heat pump perform optimally, keeping your indoor air fresh and comfortable.

It depends on the size of the space you’re cooling down. If you’re looking for the most affordable way to cool an entire house over a long period of time, then central air will be more cost-effective. But when it comes to cooling down a couple of rooms or one floor, a window unit may be the cheaper option, with both a lower cost to install and less energy used to run.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.
