"Colin was very efficient. Upgraded my electric panel and found wiring issues and was able to fix them as well. He was very thorough. Definitely having him back to Install recessed lights and a ceiling fan."

"My experience with Raising the Bar was amazing, I will definitely keep them at the top of my list for future projects! I had light fixtures installed above my breakfast bar as well as a couple of light switches replaced. The lights were installed beautifully, and he even suggested to install a dimmer switch to control them as well as my dining room (both fan and lights!). This was all done in a very timely manner and well priced, I am extremely happy with the friendly and professional service. Highly recommend!"

"Instead of just lighting the driveway he designed the lighting plan, picking particular trees to light to illuminate an aesthetic path up to the house.  The result is wonderful!  The lights on the walkway to the and deck are carefully positioned and the entire effect is wonderful.  I plan to have him back to do lights in the backyard as well.

"Things went exceptionally well when Chad of King’s Electric came to install lights in my home. I appreciated the time he took to discuss different options, to explain what he was doing in understandable words, and the quality of his work. I would definitely choose him for all of my electrical needs!"

"I gave an A rating, despite some bumps on the scheduling. The A rating was earned by Danny and the work he did to get the various new light fixtures installed, both inside and outside. We have more fixtures to be installed, and we will have Danny back to finish the job."

"Three years ago in November 2013, Dan Millard and his company entered our lives and ultimately created a kitchen and sun room combination so amazing that we are still receiving compliments on its beauty and usefulness. From demolishing the former kitchen, moving a window, removing a sliding glass door, and adding heating ducts under the floor of the sun room, the project was completed in a little over a month. They created a laundry closet in one corner of the sun room and moved our washer and dryer up from the basement. We appreciated that the workers were in our home every weekday for at least 8 hours, and our questions were answered immediately. They even helped us set up a temporary kitchen in the adjoining dining room, so I could cook with a microwave and an electric skillet. If you want exactly what you can imagine, talk to Dan @ American Kitchen Concepts."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

The cost to repair outdoor lighting typically ranges from $100 to $400. The final price depends on the severity of the damage, the specific issue, the type of lighting system, and the parts needed. Some repairs are priced per fixture, averaging $100 to $300, and there may be additional fees if the lighting is difficult to access.

One possibility is that they aren’t getting enough sunlight during the day, which could be due to a lack of sunshine in your area or trees blocking the solar panel. Alternatively, if the solar panel is dirty or the batteries are dying, your solar lights might not operate at full brightness.

Yes, animals can trigger motion-sensor lights. In fact, this is a reason why some homeowners install motion-sensor lights, to catch sneaky little critters looking through the rubbish for a midnight snack. There are sensitivities to animal detection though, so you may want to look for an option that avoids animal detection as much as possible.

The lifespan of a pool light depends on the type, but thankfully, these lights are designed to last a long time before they need to be replaced. LED bulbs last the longest, about 20,000 to 30,000 hours, while incandescent bulbs last the shortest amount of time, about 1,000 to 5,000 hours. Fiber optic pool lights will last around 6,000 hours.

Table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, desk lamps, and antique or decorative light fixtures that hold sentimental or aesthetic value are commonly repaired.
