"Responded quickly to telephone call. Had basement family room remodeled after a sewage backup. Was able to work with our request. We believe that the requested drywall installation was subcontracted out to another company, called Berea Drywall. While the job completion was adequate, there are gaps in the ceiling dry wall and many rough areas in the bathroom and family room areas.
While construction was in progress, contractor cut the main water line with a saw and did not inform us until after we called them upon return from work to find the basement family room wet yet again.
While frustrated with this experience, I would give this contractor another chance, I would just be more insistent in my expectations.

"First item on my list, he was real responsive and came by, and he put up a ceiling fan and a back porch motion detector light. EXCELLENT JOB! I recommend him for those. Both were installed VERY well. Really, he did great, and was professional, and helped me out a lot. But since that first visit, he has not been responsive to my emails (one response a couple days later, and then nothing since, I even sent out another email just in case he missed it in his inbox, and now my wife is getting impatient for the items to be done). My jobs I needed might have been more small potatoes than his expertise was for. So, I'm trying someone else instead. Like I said, I should probably be able to do all of these things on my list myself. But if you need a ceiling fan or motion detector installed, I totally recommend him, good price for the excellent work. I guess it didn't work out for me for the other stuff."

"Our garage ceiling was in imminent danger of collapsing due to failing drywall. While we weren’t thrilled at the unanticipated expense, Henry had his crew out within a day to begin repairs and explained every step of the process. The crew worked over the weekend to complete the job, and were friendly, professional and courteous throughout. The new drywall was installed and finished flawlessly, and they took care to clean up afterwards. Given the speed with which we had to have repairs done, I didn’t have time to get many full estimates for comparison, but for the scope of work it seemed reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this company for the quality of their work and responsiveness."

Small jobs welcome

"PatchWorx.pro was awesome. They got someone out quickly, and the professional they sent did an excellent job. He took obvious pride in doing things right, and actually stayed to redo the painting because it bubbled a bit during drying. Our ceiling looks great, and we would absolutely hire PatchWorx.pro again. Thank you!"

"American Kitchen Concepts transformed our dining, kitchen, and living area into a beautiful gathering space for our family. The space is very practical and incorporates elements that we asked for and other wonderful suggestions that we didn't know we wanted. The upfront design was great. My wife and I felt very comfortable and listened to. The materials and options were numerous but we received appropriate guidance in matching our tastes to the right selections. The entire process was transparent. The team that was onsite were talented and professional. They were great people to have in your house during a lengthy remodel. The team focused on quality work and where appropriate identifying issues that needed to be addressed. The coordination with third parties was fantastic. We didn't have to do much to ensure the various trades and suppliers were brought in at the right time. Everything came together nicely. I would use them again for future projects and we're happy with the value we received for our investment."

"I have hesitated to write this review because the company was supposed to send someone out to do a touchup the next time they were in my area, but they never came.  Since where the touch up is needed (a corner of the tub) isn't really noticeable to me, and as more and more time went by, I just let it go. This is the reason I downgraded "responsiveness" to a B. Otherwise I would have given an A grade because the men who did the work were excellent.
My advice: Don't pay immediately after the job is finished but wait for a bill. That way if something needs to be fixed, the company will have an incentive to send someone out. Since I had already paid in full, there was no such incentive.
I was surprised at the size of the exhaust hose that is used while the tub finish is being applied. Because my bathroom is small, the hose had to go down the front hall and out the front door. Fortunately, the weather was not cold. The finish had to cure before the rest of the work could be completed. The smell wasn't pleasant, but it was tolerable.
I don't remember if it was the next day or two days later that the wall surround was put up over the existing tile, the ceiling lined, and a new drain and new fixtures installed. The installer was a different man from the one who had applied the glaze. He worked very hard, as it wasn't an easy job, due to some irregularities in the bathtub tile area. He also screwed in the grip bars that had to be removed before the wall lining could go up.
All in all I was satisfied with the work, although the caulking that was used gets moldy, and the mold is hard to remove. The wall surround and ceiling, however, do not attract mold, hallelujah.  I thought the price was right. I'm glad I had the work done.

"The overall experience was great. Craig was easy to work with, the crews were fast, clean and thorough, and the whole process was very smooth. Would definitely recommend. When we were gathering estimates for roofing work, we scheduled time to meet Craig. He came by armed with measurements (via satellite) and a pricing sheet, which greatly expedited the whole process. We discussed a few concerns we had, and Craig walked us through pros and cons of different approaches. Once we were all in agreement, the whole process flowed just as outlined: drop off materials day before installation, new roof in one day, new gutters in a few hours in a subsequent day, and final inspection/walkthrough. We'll defiantly reach out to LKC again for future projects, and will recommend them to our friends and family."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can cover a popcorn ceiling, which is often more cost-effective and easier than scraping it off. Common methods include using ceiling-grade drywall, applying a skim coat, or installing beadboard panels to create a smooth, updated finish. Covering the ceiling can also protect you from asbestos exposure if the material contains it. However, it's important to note that this method only seals off the asbestos and does not eliminate it, which could be a concern for future renovations or home resale. If you suspect your ceiling contains asbestos, it's best to hire a local asbestos abatement company to test the material and manage its safe removal.

Popcorn ceilings have fallen out of popularity due to their outdated appearance, difficult maintenance, and potential health risks. Ceilings installed before the 1990s may contain asbestos, which poses a serious health hazard if disturbed. As design trends have shifted towards sleeker, more modern finishes, many homeowners now favor smoother ceilings that offer a cleaner look and easier upkeep.

However, popcorn ceilings do offer some benefits, such as acoustic dampening and the ability to hide imperfections. Some people also appreciate their retro charm or find them to be a cost-effective option. Ultimately, whether a popcorn ceiling is 'bad' depends on personal preference, safety concerns, and the overall aesthetic of the home.

Under the right circumstances, removing your popcorn ceiling can have a favorable ROI exceeding 80%. The ROI depends on several factors, such as the size of your ceiling, where the texture is located in your home, the state of the housing market, and whether the ceiling contains asbestos.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.
