"We had our basement waterproofed by Baker's. It's been bone-dry since. We did have one piece of equipment fail within a month of the installation, but it was a third party dehumidifier that was just a dud I guess, no fault of Baker's. I texted the project manager about it on a Sunday. I expected a response the following week. He got back to me within the hour. The equipment was removed and replaced within a couple days. Everything great since. I would highly recommend Baker's, but specifically our project manager Nathan Goddard and the head guy on site Daylan. Can't remember his last name, but he's got a long beard and did a great job. Thanks to both of them and the rest of the guys."

Pedestal sinks typically come with two pieces: the pedestal (also known as the base or pole) and the sink basin. You may hear it referred to as a standalone sink. For one thing, the water pressure will most likely be greatly reduced, leading to a less-than-intense shower. There's also the risk of contamination from dirt and bacteria that can enter the broken water main pipe. In many cases, a pro will turn off the flow of water from your water main to do the repairs, so showering won’t likely be an option.

If your shower is leaking when it’s off, it may not be an immediate cause for concern. After a shower, some water is left in the showerhead and will drip out after you turn the shower off. Other reasons include potential pressure or condensation in the pipes or thermal contraction when the pipes cool down after a hot shower. However, if the showerhead leaks continuously, call a pro to take a look.

You can leave the outside spigot open all winter, which may even help avoid pressure buildup as temperatures change over the seasons. Just make sure to shut the spigot off in the spring before you turn the water supply to the outdoor faucets back on, or water will rush out from the spigot.
