"We used Radon Abatement Services for our basement. The radon levels were slightly over the EPA recommended limit. We mitigated the radon as part of a larger basement renovation. Radon Abatement Services worked with our General Contractor and did a great job. Radon levels are vastly reduced now as a result of their work."

Customers say: Quick response

"After my basement test come back with significantly elevated radon, I contacted radon abatement services at the recommendation of a neighbor. A day and a half later, they were on site. While performing the initial walk through, the experienced and thoughtful professionals adapted their plan to utilize my sump pump. This was an effective strategy as it addressed the main source of radon and concealed the system in completely unfinished space. I just received my post mitigation radon results, and the system is working phenomenally. To sum it up, I was blown away by the responsiveness, thoughtfulness, and reasonableness and can't say enough positive things about this company. I don't ever post reviews, but in this circumstance I absolutely had to."

"Tommy, Paul and crew did an excellent job with my radon remediation and installation of a new attic stairs. They tailored the exhaust piping for my radon removal so the only thing that showed was the exhaust vent, which they painted to blend in with the roof. The test results after remediation was only 0.4 pCi/l. The very low results is a testimony for their outstanding work. They were very friendly and accommodating. They always strived to exceed my exceptions, which they did. I highly recommend Atlantic Radon."

"The work has not yet been done - scheduled for two days from now. Very pleased with the estimate and service to date. The work has now been completed. An excellent job configuring the stacks to be as unobtrusive as possible, sealing cracks and floor drain, and installing a radon flow alarm. An independent radon test has been scheduled now that the work has been finished. Excellent company. Highly recommended."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

Your radon fan needs to operate 24/7 to be effective. The only time the fan isn't operating is during its replacement. Radon levels in the home can increase within hours if the fan stops working or something obstructs the stack vent. Fortunately, radon systems require no downtime maintenance between fan changes.
