"Fantastic. I was in a tough spot being left with a half finished project an a lot of unanswered questions and unknown quality. Luis came in with a professional approach and clearly showed he cared about putting out a quality finished product. He not only complete his scope of work he corrected a number of issues with walls being out of plumb and questionable framing and plumbing. He was receptive to changes and helped make some design decisions. He had good suggestions and always w honest with me when it came to quality - no we shouldn't do it that way, this will be better/look better etc. He didn't shield his guys from me or hide anything. He was comfortable letting me speak with his subcontractors which helped me understand the problems we encountered. We communicated via phone mostly and sometimes text message but he answered the phone when I called - something I have had problems with elsewhere. I made a few decisions, cutting some corners to save money that he cautioned me against and looking back I regret it, he was right. In the end he helped get my certificate of occupancy, completing punchlist items added by the inspectors. All-in-all a very very good experience with Luis Mina. I would definitely hire him again for another remodel project."

"Horizon Landscaping Designs did a superb job of refurbishing the retaining wall on our property. It required a significant effort as it was over 20 years old and beginning to collapse. The work was completed in only two days and the crew worked nonstop to get it done. The work was flawless and the wall is in top condition now. Handbuilt masonry fireplaces are likely what comes to mind when we think about curling up by the fire at the end of the day. But bricks in the firebox and chimney tend to be heavy, which is not ideal for homes with weak or damaged foundations.

Prefabricated fireboxes come with a full flue and chimney system, significantly reducing the price and installation time. However, if you need to replace the panels down the line, you are locked into the same model or something very similar.

For most masonry cleaning jobs, you should use a masonry sponge and a gentle cleaner like dish soap, vinegar, or a dedicated fireplace or masonry cleaner. Harsher bleach-based or ammonia cleaning agents should only be used if necessary and never mixed together.

Brick can increase the value of your home depending on the type of masonry materials used. Homes generally have a higher resale value when they have brick siding, and brick is also easier to maintain (and lasts longer) than other types of siding, which can motivate buyers to make an offer.
