"After opening the outside vent, they discovered a birds nest in the vent which was causing very little air flow in the vent. This contributed and was the cause of having to run the clothes through 2 cycles to get dried. They cleaned out the vent and replaced the cover with an anti bird cover to prevent this from occurring in the future. Great persons who performed the job. Highly recommended. Would hired again."

"Carl Nixon of Raven Pest control did an excellent job with my particular situation. I had a dead bird stuck in my chimney which was drawing flies into my house. Carl assessed the situation and applies a pesticide that got rid of all of the flies. Carl then followed up for two weeks to make sure the job was completed and no flies remained. I would fully recommend Raven Pest Control. Efficient and professional."

Customers say: Quick response

"Josh is amazing. I called DMV wildlife for bird removal from my bathroom vents. Josh came cleaned and sanitized the bathroom vents inside and out. He also installed a basket to make sure they canâ t get back in! He also recommended a basket for our dryer vent so they wouldnâ t go from one vent entrance to another. Josh went over and beyond and cleaned the dryer vent. DMV wildlife is HIGHLY recommended! Thanks again Josh!"

Customers say: True professional

"Always a good experience with Green Pest Services.  Their technicians and managers thoroughly explain their process and what, if anything, they found. They are always prompt, courteous, and friendly taking special care with furniture, carpets, or anything that could get damaged.  I have called them out on a couple of special trips between quarterly servicing and get their usual professional attention.  All of the Green Pest team are great to work with from technicians, to managers, to the office staff.  Special kudos to Chris, one of their senior technicians, who has worked with me most often before he was promoted.  I highly recommend Green Pest Services.

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Identifying the specific animal running on your roof at night can be challenging without direct observation. Common nocturnal roof visitors include raccoons, squirrels, opossums, and rats. Raccoons are bigger and can create heavy thumping sounds. Squirrels are agile and may produce rapid scurrying noises. Opossums tend to move stealthily with less noise. Rats can make scratching or gnawing sounds. To determine the culprit, look for signs like footprints, droppings, or damaged areas near the roof. For accurate identification, consult a pest control professional or set up wildlife cameras near potential entry points.

Some birds of prey, like owls, hunt at night. Hawks are diurnal and need good light to see their prey. You could see them circling anytime from dawn to dusk. Species like the common red-tailed hawk are most active in the early morning and late evening when their prey is also typically on the go.

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.

Once the animals and their young are out of the house, remove the nest and locate any entry points. Some may be difficult to find because some animals can fit through very small holes. Once you’ve located as many entry points as possible, use materials such as metal or masonry to block off the entry. Ideally, you should choose materials that most animals cannot chew through. Create a one-way door or flap to allow animals to leave but not return. Additional methods include using repellants designed to make an area unappealing to the types of animals that find your home so inviting.

Hawk attacks on pets are rare, and they won’t target animals that outweigh them. Hawks typically weigh between one and three pounds. That means you don’t need to worry if you have a Labrador Retriever or French Bulldog. However, small cats and toy breed dogs, like Chihuahuas, are at risk. Pet attacks are more likely in winter when food is scarce or in the early summer when inexperienced young hawks are honing their hunting skills.
