"The work performed was outstanding. Cornerstone Hydro Wash was professional, knowledgeable & clearly experienced. I was looking for more expertise than a lawn company that had a pressure washer. Pressure washing, among other things, IS their business, and they had the equipment, chemicals, knowledge & a truckload of commercial equipment to get the job done right. Not only did I get my deck & my whole house washed, but Brian amazingly transformed my driveway, sidewalk & porch. They are reasonably priced - worth every dollar. I highly recommend them..."

"Mr.Softwash power washing services were spot on. I reached out to Angi to have my outside chimney stack cleaned up. It was a real eyesore with black soot and mold. Matt the owner contacted me promptly and explained the procedure. He was very courteous and professional and he gave me a an unbeatable price. I chose him to complete the work and I couldn't have been happier. He showed up on time, iintroduced himself, and got right to work. He was very pleasant and thorough. He cleaned up.after himself and you would have never known he was here. The chimney never looked better! I will use Mr.Softwash for all my pressure cleaning work and I highly recommend him. ."

"There was only one cleaner, but he was the most thorough cleaner I’ve had thus far! He cleaned in fashion of a white glove inspection, and was very accommodating and patient. I will definitely use this team again!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"Tim did a phenomenal job power washing all the exterior surfaces of our home. He had knowledge about the very specific process for cleaning our stucco like surface and went over his work to make sure it met a very high standard. We’ve already made plans to have him do some additional work. Also, he was very well priced."

"Outdoor Advantage was very easy to work with....responsive to e-mail communications and adhered to schedule it promised. I rated the quality as "good" instead of "excellent", because there were some areas of the side of the house (down the back stairs to our basement) which were not as clean as other areas it washed, but for the most part, the job was nicely done. I have used this company before and find it very professional."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

No. In spite of its identical chemical makeup, sodium bicarbonate manufactured for blasting purposes has a particular type and size of particles that differs from grocery store baking soda. In addition, this method would not be cost effective because you would need several boxes of baking soda to equal one blast-sized bag of medium.

You’ll need to wait until the surface is completely dry, which can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours under optimal conditions. The waiting period depends on several factors, including the type of siding and the weather conditions. Trying to paint before the surface is completely dry can trap moisture under the paint, leading to bubbling, blistering, and mold growth.

You don't technically need to seal your driveway after pressure washing, but doing so will help keep your driveway clean for longer. The best driveway sealer depends on the type of driveway you have. To seal asphalt, consider an asphalt emulsion sealer, fast-drying sealer, or latex acrylic sealer. Concrete driveways commonly use acrylic sealers or penetrating sealers.

Yes, it is highly recommended to wash a house's exterior before painting to ensure the best results. Cleaning the surface removes dirt, dust, grime, mold, mildew, and old paint, which allows the new paint to adhere properly and results in a smoother, long-lasting finish. Failing to clean can lead to poor adhesion, peeling, and an uneven appearance. Pressure washing is an efficient method for this, but be cautious not to use excessive pressure that could damage siding or wood. For materials like vinyl or stucco, soft washing might be a better option. After washing, allow sufficient drying time, such as three to four days, before painting to prevent trapping moisture, which can cause blistering or peeling.
