"The service rep was very safety conscious and went over safety details on how to properly build a fire, how to dispose of the embers, how to avoid extra smoke coming into the house.  he did a thorough examination of the chimney flues, inside and outside and checked some brick facing in the attic that a previous inspector had explained needed to be re-mortared.  He had a thorough knowledge of the construction of our chimney and pronounced in in very good condition.  He also confirmed the proper discharge location for fallen embers into the basement, which had been a worry for us.  He pronounced that in good shape as well.  He also went over the idea we wanted to explore of making the fireplace into a two sided one and he explained that this was indeed possible.  but he recommended that we use the third flu, which he discovered and which no one had told us about, and explained we could convert that flu to a gas fired fireplace flu for the room on the other side. 
He cleaned up well after himself and was professional throughout.  I will use him again every year.

"I sent a quote request to Jose the other day to replace my chimney cap which had blown off earlier in the week. About an hour later I got a phone call and that evening he came by to assess the job and provide me a quote. The next morning at 8am, he was on my roof getting the job done. For the gutters, he removed my gutter guards, cleaned out everything thoroughly, and sent me pictures showing me his work. I will absolutely call Jose again in the future for similar jobs. "We received several estimates and Mark's was by far the best.  He was easy to get a hold of and communicated the whole way through the process.  He came on a Saturday and finished the job in a day.  He even gave us options for mortar color which ended up matching the existing mortar perfectly.  We are happy with the results as the chimney looks better and more importantly is structurally sound, we're now less worried about leaks and further deterioration.  We will definitely consider Mark for future masonry work around our house.
