I was given a false estimate which stated two areas of my roof needed to be repaired. I was only aware of one leak in the front. The estimate was high but since they were repairing two areas, I agreed. They had lied. Only one area was repaired. They told me that was all that was needed. I disputed the bill and filed a complaint. Mr Goss requested that I cancel.my complaint with BBB and naively, I agreed to do so. I did not pay my bill and never received another bill or a call about paying the bill. Two months later and the roof began to leak in the area they repaired. They stated they would not fix it without another estimate. I updated a negative google review to reflect my dissatisfaction. Mr Goss then personally called me yelling and screaming that I take down my review or I "would be really sorry" He also stated he would sue me for the past bill. I asked for a reduction in that bill and he said I was giving him an ultimative which clearly, I was not. He said he would discuss it only if I removed my negative review. He never offered to check or repair my roof which wss leaking. I removed my review and waited for his call. Of course, he never called. I reposted the review and paid him in full. I now have a complaint pending with the BBB. I also have to hire another roofer as I was not willing to pay Mr Goss more to again repair my roof. Mr Goss is a complete bully, threatening me, a denior citizen over an accurate review. He is paid in full for work he did not do. I will let the BBB resolve this problem. I do not recommend this company. They gi e false estimates, do shoddy work, do not stand by their work and will tjreatoand bully you.

Don't even consider using this company!! We had them replace our aging roof and the first winter after installation we had water leaking in our house, the new roof was bubbled up, and the brand new Goss installed plywood was buckling under the shingles. Goss refuses to stand by his warranty so we eventually had to file an insurance claim. Even with a professional engineers report showing that the installation did not meet code, he still refuses to remedy the issue. To make matters worse, Greg Goss personally has lost his temper, screamed and cursed to us and made personal insults. Completely unprofessional! Do not use them!

First issue: timeliness. Signed contract in Sept. 2017. Was promised work would be completed by early Nov., no later than Thanksgiving. Windows and door installed early Nov. Work was well done. Siding started mid-Nov. Essentially complete mid-Dec. except for items that had to be fixed (ripped screens, light fixture, wrapping windows with aluminum, etc.) Finally completed in Jan. 2018. Second issue: communication. We were told all work would be done by Goss employees. Not true. Windows and door done by private subcontractor to window supplier. No problem with their work but they did not know siding was being replaced which affected how they finished around windows. Siding installed by siding supplier, not Goss, not sure if workers were contract employees. They were supposed to have a supervisor we could discuss issues with but he never showed up. Our gutters had been recently replaced with the roof. In discussing this for contract, told Goss we did not want them moved. Was told their men take them down all the time and know what they are doing. We said OK. Yet another sub came out to remove the gutters, looked at them and said he didn't know how to take them down. After discussion with Goss, decided to work around gutters in place. We were surprised one day, then, to see a gutter hanging away from the house. Once work was completed, we told Goss about gutter removal and in fact, pointed out one gutter that was now running level. Goss denied removing them. We had original gutter installer come out and he confirmed that gutters had been, at least, loosened and put back and that one gutter did not have a slope. This voided our warranty. Gutter installer gave a price to re-hang gutters and we asked Goss to cover the cost. Goss refused. We suggested splitting the cost but Goss again refused. In order to avoid further confrontation, we decided to pay Goss and put an end to the project.

Gutter repair promptly completed. Roofing will be done later this summer.

They did an excellent job, we were very pleased. We got several quotes and theirs was the best. The work was completed in about two days, they left the area very clean when they finished. The workers were courteous and as professional as roofers can be.

The proposal was very professional. They did an excellent job, arrived as scheduled, finished quickly and kept me in the loop during the process. Cant ask for a better roofer.

After a large snowstorm, about 4-5 feet of snow had drifted against our home, where our 1-story garage meets our 2-story house. We removed what we could, and after the rest melted we noticed a slight depression/dip (appx. 2-3 feet wide) on the garage roof where the deepest snow had been. Fearing that the structure of the roof was damaged, we called GJ Goss to have them come out and assess the situation and provide an estimate if needed. The lady who initially took my call at the office (I can't remember her name) was so nice, and worked with us to find a good time that fit in our schedule. It helped that the company is local and locally owned, right up the street from us. On the day of the appointment, Scott came out and met with my husband. They went outside and examined the roof, and Scott got up on the roof to take a closer look. He went so far as to stand on and test the spot we were concerned about, and reported that there was no movement/give in the board underneath, that he could detect. Everything appeared sturdy. We let him know that we were planning on have the roof replaced in 2-3 years. He gave us a few options, ranging in scope from most to least invasive/expensive, but ultimately recommended that we would be safe in just keeping an eye on it, since we were going to replace the roof in a few years anyway. He assured us that he didn't think there was any structural damage or danger of imminent collapse, it might have been there for a long time and we just hadn't noticed, and he didn't want us to have to spend money on something that probably wasn't an immediate problem. He said to keep an eye on it and if it looked like it was getting worse or if we noticed signs of leaking in the garage - which we hadn't, dry as a bone - to call them back. We really appreciated Scott's honesty, and it reflects well on the company as a whole. We were in a vulnerable position, and he honestly could have sold us on an expensive repair if he'd been less than honest. We will definitely be contacting GJ Goss in the future for an estimate when we go to replace our roof.

EMailed several companies for quotes. Was contacted the next day and had quote performed the following day. Estimate was received the day after. I can not begin to say how much better the communication was with this company compared to the others. The professionalism and prompt service was why we chose them to do the work. Once work was started, every issue was brought to my attention. The expertise and experience really showed as they completed the job. All work was done as discussed and looks wonderful. We also needed some carpentry done to add small roof extension. They recommended a great carpenter. On top of all the professionalism and high quality of work, the price was out standing.

Went great! We originally contacted them in the summer of 2014 to get a quote on a minor repair of a cracked vent boot. They did not pressure us for new roof at all. We did ask for a quote on a new roof just in case. At the time we didn't go ahead with any work. In the winter of 2014 we contacted them again as we were ready to proceed with the work and decided we wanted a new roof. We assumed we'd need to get a new quote as it was several months since the original quote was given. They honored the original quote and we set a date for work in January of 2015. The morning of the scheduled work the crew arrived on time and got right to work. The site lead was friendly and told us exactly what we could expect. They were quick and efficient and took great care to make sure that debris on the front lawn and back deck was cleaned up. We found minimal debris after they left, save a few pieces of shingle in our garden. Overall, we were happy with the experience and would hire them again.

They did a great job because it was leaking and it has not leak since then. Their professionalism was such that I even called the company to comment about the two young men who were here because they did an outstanding job and their professionalism far exceeded other company I have ever dealt with. I called the company directly to tell them that. They were recommended to me by a guy who did my drywall and I think I looked them up on Angie?s List and I use them for every internal and external jobs that I need. For these guys, punctuality was not a question. I called them one day and they said that they will be out here on this week but they were here the next day. They were on the roof by the time I got up because I told them I had a leak and they were out here. These guys were in their 20?s, they just said yes and no to what I said and they gave me answers that I did not think they had. Their professionalism was outstanding. I highly recommend them and I will use them again. I can?t say enough about the professionalism of the young men who worked on my roof.

We met with a few different roofers and got estimates. When all was said and done, Goss was right in the middle of the estimates. The price and customer service is what sold us! We would definitely recommend them.

We contacted them because 3 of our neighbors had recently used them and were very pleased with the quality of their work and the cost. We talked to a few other contractors but we really had no verification for their work and their price was much higher. They were very professional,punctual, and conscientious. I would highly recommend them.

Jack was the first gentleman to come out. He inspected and measured the roof and provided a folder with the various brochures on products and info on company. For me, one of the big factors was the fact that he did not and quot;hard selland quot; the company. He presented the options, gave professional advice to consider in making the decisions, and would follow up with information. While providing info on their preferred shingle/roofing material (GAF), he made it clear they were willing to work with me if I had another product in mind. If we chose GJ Goss as our roofer, he also encouraged me to wait on deciding color or type until he could bring samples and would provide referrals to see the product on actual roofs. I had gotten a few roofing quotes, and while GJ Goss was not the cheapest, they were certainly competitive, especially with the scope of work (including chimney repair) I needed to have done. (I had expected to have to hire a separate brickmason). Handling the quote process with the office was very simple and easy. Since Jack himself was an experienced brick mason, he came out and actually did the chimney work himself and performed a neat and professional job. He also brought the shingle color samples. The office provided a couple of addresses for houses with the colors we'd narrowed down to, and we made an informed decision. Because of the size of our roof, the job took two long days. They had a full team who constantly worked in an efficient manner. They even got 3/4 done on the first day. The men were very professional and polite, and explained that the gutters would be done by a different crew that worked on those. The only issue that arose was some miscommunication as to when the gutters would be scheduled to be done. I had to phone and follow-up myself to check on the status of that after I had not heard for over a week (and had gotten the bill for the roof). But once I had done that follow-up, GJ Goss quickly responded. We are very pleased with the work done on the gutters, and love the look and quality of the new roof.

It was great working with G.J. Goss. We had at least 5 personal recommendations outside of Angie's List when we called them and they gave us the best price and a quality job. We had a great experience. Once we had the quote in hand and we decided to go with Goss, they provided us with some addresses we could drive by to help us choose a roof color. The office staff was very responsive by both phone and email. On the scheduled date, the crew arrived on time to install the roof in the morning and by the time we got home, we had a new roof and there was no other sign that they had been there. The gutters were installed on a different day and that crew was also professional and courteous.

We needed to replace our roof as it was nearing the end of it's usable life. We had four different companies come to look at the roof and give us an estimate for replacement. The office staff was pleasant and very helpful and set up an appointment for the estimator to come out within a few days of our call. The appointment needed to be in the evening to accommodate work schedules and this was done promptly. The estimator, Scott, was very prompt, professional and courteous. He spent time discussing the company, the way they work and went over all the various roofing options available. He then went up on the roof to take pictures and walk around to inspect it. This company was the only one who actually went up on the roof. Within 2 days we had an estimate of cost with various options and their individual cost. Once we had selected this company, contacted the office to discuss with the estimator. Again, dealt with the office staff who said that the owner would be calling as he likes to review all contracts personally. He called the next day, review the contract, all the options we had decided on and answered any questions. The date for the roof replacement was set up the next day by the office staff. A day before the replacement, the office called to verify the options again and to say the crew would be out in the early morning. The next day, the crew arrived and the crew supervisor introduced himself, reviewed the day and the crew started work. They were organized, efficient and professional. They protected our landscape and patio and cleaned up as they went along. About mid-afternoon, the estimator came by, went up on the roof and talked with the supervisor. This is exactly what he had said he would do when we talked with him at the initial visit. They completed the job in one day, as promised and did an excellent job! We would recommend this company and will use them again in the future without hesitation.

Price was very reasonable, covering quality materials. They completed the work in one day, right before we were scheduled to go on vacation so this was most appreciated. We left in the morning for work and came home to a brand new roof - with the exception of a sign in the front yard advertising their work (which was fine with us) you would not have known they were even there. Their office staff were also very helpful.

They charged us around $1,500 on each house. They did a good job and they were quick. Their price was more reasonable than a lot of the other companies that I had gotten bids from. The gutters that they put in were seamless. They are made and measured for your house and there is no leak obviously because they do not have any seam. Their price was excellent. They had the lowest price and they did quality work. Their responsiveness was excellent and they came when they said that they were going to come. They did the job very quickly and there was no messing around. They got it done, took the old stuff away and they were back in business. Their professionalism was excellent too.

GJ Goss installed a new roof (over existing shingles). The job looks great. Would definitely use them again.

Josh and his crew were exceptionally professional in their work. They were also thorough in the cleanup and answered all questions and concerns. Greg coordinated the work and was very professional, as well. My thanks to all!

The workmanship was good, and the workers who came were diligent and polite. The siding work was, I believe, subcontracted out to the supplier. We had a problem with clean-up as there were nails left lying around. Windows were put in and a problem that we had was quickly fixed. Our sun porch was remodeled and was well done. The roof was completed in one day. Our biggest problem with G.J. Goss Company was communication; it was poor. Calls made by us were left unanswered for days at a time. We were not kept up-to-date on progress and were frequently not kept in the loop regarding scheduling. The house looks great and we have had many complements from neighbors and friends, but it was a very frustrating experience.

Everything went according to plans no problems.

They were great, they did an excellent job. I had no complaints.

The quoting process went very quickly but a few weeks passed before I received a callback. Fortunately for me, I had selected another contractor while waiting for feedback from Mr. Goss so he personally paid me a visit to explain everything that would be done during the day of my job. The price was right and the contract was signed. Outstanding job and done on time. Very good contractor!

The lady in the office was very nice and she promised that someone would call me but it took 4 or 5 calls before anyone called back. They would promise to come out and then they wouldn't show up. Finally after about 6 weeks, someone did come out and confirmed that the entire joint between those two sections of the roof had been improperly installed. I believe they omitted the flashing and had just caulked the joint, which is why it didn't begin leaking for awhile and gradually got worse. Then it took many more calls and e-mails before someone finally came out and made the repair....3 months after I originally reported the problem. Meanwhile, I was getting water in my family room every time it rained and had to stare at a gaping 18 inch long hole in the ceiling, which was a real source of pride every time we had guests over. Once the repair was made, I had no more problems. However, I had $2000 of damage to the interior ceiling which Goss' warranty did not cover so I had to pay for that work. Mr. Goss was very nice and seemed sincerely concerned the couple of times I actually got him on the phone but the responsiveness in getting them to stand behind their work was atrocious.
