"I initially hired Penate Tile & Home Improvement to install floor tile, but after they did such nice work and were so professional I decided to ask them to do a larger job replacing windows, framing out window wells, and replacing and extending stairs. They did an equally fine job on this project as well."

"Calix provided us with excellent and highly skilled carpentry services on multiple occasions. They’ve done several projects for us now, including replacing a bannister on our stairs (which included a new hand rail design), replacing a step on our indoor stairs as well as our gazebo outside, and designing and building a set of built-in shelves and cabinets. Carlos’s work is extremely high quality. He has excellent attention to detail and is very professional and timely. We happily and gladly recommend him for any carpentry services."

"We used Lux to install an Owens-Corning system in an unfinished basement. The project turned out beautifully and is very custom to our space- half carpeted, half flooring. Dan was very communicative and quickly took care of some finishing details that are the icing on the cake. It's amazing to be able to reclaim previously unused space and turn it into a heated, well-used room! While we aren't fans of Owens-Corning sales tactics, we went into it knowing what to expect and were able to get the price down to the ballpark that we were expecting, with a return on investment that is 100% worth it."

"Allen is an excellent carpenter; we had the banister & railing updated; along with the stair threads. We also had the risers reinforced. Hands down, very happy with Allen & his services. My neighbors were so impressed; they also hired him."

"The crew from Chevy Chase Remodeling did an excellent job replacing my damaged kitchen ceiling, cabinets and counters. The crew was dependable, professional and courteous. They made adjustments for small space misalignments that had not been foreseen, followed through on punch list items and kept costs within the exact range of original quotes. They made sure that I was happy with their work, and I was very pleased!"

"Jordan and Tim were awesome with the installation of new shower including handrails and seat. They took the care to cover the floors and cleaned up after the installation. They also asked questions during the installation to ensure things were installed as we wanted. Kudos to a great job! We are happy with the whole process from the salesman Sam Smith to the installers, Tim and Jordan. Highly recommend."

"It went very well! We visited the Chantilly showroom to look at their materials and met Cemmy Kurt (who would be our designer) and Allan. There was no pressure to buy anything, and they were happy to answer questions. We set up an appointment for an estimate and were very pleased with both the price and the materials. We chose to do the demolition ourselves, which allowed us to make changes to the design as necessary. Cemmy was exceptional at communicating with us, incorporating necessary changes and choosing the materials. He even found a better deal on upgraded kitchen cabinets, allowing us to have exactly the look and features we wanted. The work started on time and stayed on schedule throughout. Orlando (project manager on site) and his team were very good at the installation and very accommodating with inevitable changes. Work took almost 4 weeks, but the finished product looks wonderful! We could not be more pleased with everything and would definitely recommend DMV Kitchen & Bath and will use them again."

"The level of craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. The team leader(Steve) was professional and took care of procuring permits. The finished screened in porch now has a delightful ceiling fan and an upper deck with decorative railing. They stayed on target of their original estimate which was significantly less then their nearest competitor. Could not be more pleased."

"First the good stuff. They did an excellent job on the craftsmanship. The wall and walkway look amazing. The wall is a short sitting wall curved to follow a broken paver pathway. The wall has 8 lights and covers about 40 linear feet enclosing a garden.
The walkway is especially well done with nice thin mortar joints between the stones. Arranging the irregular stones is like assembling a puzzle and they did a great job.
The price was reasonable, neither low or high.
One thing to note in dealing with them. Make sure you write down exactly what you expect. The contract contained minimal description and I added a couple written paragraphs and a drawing. This became an issue when they originally built the wall incorrectly. To their credit the didn't argue much and fixed it up. Would also suggest that telling the site manager anything verbally does not mean its getting done. Write it down. Again nothing deliberate, they just don't write it down and forget.

In most cases, professional organizers are well worth the investment. They often handle decluttering, which can take hours of work, and professional home and garage organization solutions that homeowners wouldn’t often think about. In many cases, homeowners will recognize the true value of a professional organizer during the weeks following the project’s finish when they use their new space and realize the improved quality of life that comes with convenient and thoughtful storage and organization.
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Professional organizers charge $55 to $100 per hour, with average per-project rates costing $510. If you need help with basic decluttering and organizing of your garage, expect to pay $200 to $700. On the other hand, major reorganization projects can cost $1,500 to $5,000, including installing shelves and storage solutions. Expect to pay more for professional organization help if you need specialty storage solutions, like cabinets and toolboxes for a workshop or a ceiling-mounted kayak or bike storage option.
