Gary promptly called, inquiring if it was a good time to discuss the project. He quickly assessed a solution without upselling, and for the best price out of three inquiries. He arrived promptly the next morning and was done within an hour and twenty minutes, including adjusting the height on some factory-installed components, fixing a broken lightbulb socket, and adjusting everything to be silky smooth. He replaced a single torsion spring with two after weighing the door to ensure the correct parts were used. Completely worth the message and follow-up phone call. He even mentioned how to replace the motor easily myself if I wanted to upgrade to a WiFi or battery backup model, without upselling me on an expensive package. Wonderful, stress-free experience!

After a snowfall left our road slick and dangerous we were able to meet one of our neighbors after they crashed through our garage door and into the house. The door was split in half and utterly destroyed. We researched through our community page and found Gary the Doorman very highly recommended. I could not be more pleased with my choice. Gary came out to provide an estimate swiftly, gave us options and advice, even offered to recommend someone else if we couldn't wait to have the door replaced as all the doors he puts in are made to order and we currently had plywood keeping our garage closed up. (lead time is usually something like 2-ish weeks from what I gather.) Knowing we were facing pressure from the HOA and that we were really wishing we had a door back, Gary came to our house the very day he received the doors from the manufacturer. It was POURING rain outside, cold, certainly not ideal conditions for working half in/half outside the house. Gary arrived cheerful and courteous, and was never anything but gracious and pleasant the whole time he was on site. He explained what he was doing, offered to set up new codes for the existing keypad and a new vehicle, cleaned up the old door and hauled everything away. I truly could not be more pleased with this experience; any further garage door needs we have will immediately be directed to Gary, and should anyone ask our opinion on the matter, we'll 100% recommend him.

the work went very well. The job was completed in one trip and Mr. Bloomfield was thorough and professional. He ended up replacing the 12 year old chain driven with a new belt mechanism. The door works perfectly and quietly.

Gary came out within 48 hours to fix our door. He got to work immediately, weighing the door, taking apart the broken spring assembly, and inspecting all the parts as they were removed. He then explained what he found and how he was going to fix it. I truly appreciated his detailed explanation as he began to make the repairs. He has been in the business a long time and his experience was very comforting. He made everything look so easy, even though I knew it wasn't! After cutting a new spring to the proper specifications (the old one was not built to last...), he had everything working in less than 30 minutes. He even had a spare electric eye to replace one of mine that was broken!! He then offered to lubricate all the moving parts. Once he was done and we tested the door - it was like new! It's the quietest it has ever been and Gary assured me the new spring will last much longer than the previous one - and he stands behind that. I would definitely recommend him for any garage doors repairs you may need.

I can't say enough about Gary from Doorman of Frederick. He was very prompt, knowledgeable, and personable. He recommended that we go with two springs instead of one for our two-car garage door because it would be more reliable, and he custom cut them for the perfect fit on the spot. He also adjusted the connection to the opener and the safety mechanism, and lubricated the hinges.

Gary was punctual, quick working, knowledgable and friendly. Considerate of customers' needs and will not fleece you with unnecessary charges. Provides used parts free of charge!! Great service, highly recommended! Make him your first call. I couldn't be happier with the service provided.

Gary did a great job on perhaps the hottest day of the year. Repair was done in a timely fashion, the door was reset, all moving parts were oiled and even the steel brace was remade. All in less than an hour. This veteran is now on our community's list of preferred vendors. I would hire Gary again immediately.

I honestly can't say enough positive things about Gary. I have hired several types of workers before from garage door repair, to electricians, to appliance repairs, to woodwork. The majority of them did subpar work or tried pulling one over on me. It is extremely difficult to find good workers today. From the moment you talk to Gary you get a sense of honesty and trustworthiness. He came within 24 hours to diagnose and fix our garage door issues while I was out of state and dealt with my wife. He was a complete professional and was upfront and honest about what needed to be done and what could be put off, how to save money, etc. And just to top it off for good measure, he saved the day for us. While he was repairing the garage door and showing my wife the issue a pipe in the garage busted and water was gushing out everywhere. He quickly got permission from my wife to enter the house and had the water off within 90 seconds. If he wasn't there at that time my wife would have been clueless with what to do. He literally saved us! I will absolutely be using him for all garage repairs from here on out and highly recommend him to anyone.

When I called Gary to schedule the appointment, he talked to me on the phone as I inspected the motor and walked me through some tests and possible fixes over the phone and told me what to inspect for wear, etc.  This guy is amazing, if we could have fixed it over the phone, I don't think he would've charge me - seriously a top notch professional in every aspect of this repair.

He came on schedule and was very thorough (not in a rush).  He even looked at the other door and did maintenance on it for the total price of around $287.  The last guy who put the oversized spring on 3 years ago, charged me over $300 just to put the wrong spring on.

I even called him the next day and told him he has a customer for life.

One of the tracks was misaligned  and bent. This caused the rollers to fall out and the door to hang halfway down when it was open. We had to removed the door in fear of it falling down.

Gary came in and fixed the bent track and reinstalled the door. He also replaced some of the pulleys which were causing the door not to close properly. Gary also installed safety wires to ensure that if the springs broke, they would not hurt anyone.

By being unable to open our garage door this morning we were effectively stranded without transportation.  We called Gary and his response time was incredibly fast.  He was here within an hour after our call.  He explained in detail what happened and then proceeded to replace the spring.  We are very satisfied with his work and his professional manner and would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of a garage door repair.

Gary did a fantastic job repairing my garage door that has been driving me crazy for a long time!
I wish i had called him sooner. My garage door was very loud and not closing smoothly. It also did
not seal properly at the bottom when closed and was bent a bit. Gary was able to fix everything!
He installed a support bar across the top of the garage door that he said would give my door more
stability and also replaced a pulley that was very worn, which is what was causing the loud, uneven
closing of my garage door. He also checked the security feature of my garage door opener and found
that was not properly adjusted. He make a few adjustments so that now it is adjusted properly and will
go back up quickly when it comes in contact with something while closing. 
I was very pleased with Gary. He did a fantastic job showing me everything that was worn and wrong with
my garage door and explained what he could do to fix it and the cost. Never once did I feel pressured to buy 
a whole new garage door which I was afraid might happen. I am so happy I found Doorman of Frederick and 
that my garage door is now repaired and opening and closing properly again!

I called Gary on 3/20 and he picked up the phone right away.  I described that the door was essentially stuck in one position.  He asked me to go to the door and describe what I saw, the type of parts, measurement of the door and other specific questions.  He was able to diagnose the problem and give me an honest assessment of the mechanism.  He quoted a price on the phone for the work and indicated that he would follow up with me early next week.  He called Sunday evening and we agreed upon him coming to the home early Monday morning.  He arrive promptly and was working on the door when I came back from my errand.  He greeted me warmly and indicated to me that work that he was doing and the mechanism that needed replacement.
He told me that the replacement would have 10x the service life of the previous part which I saw was not built for long term use.  He was on the property for about 1 1/2 hours.  He was meticulous in making sure that the door was properly balanced and closing evenly.  He demonstrated an attention to detail and a concern for his client's needs.  The work was completed in a reasonable time and at a competitive price.  Would definitely recommend this vendor for his work and would be my first choice if I ever wanted a garage door opener in the future.

Gary was an excellent service provider when my garage door stopped closing. Before fixing it he pointed out additional functional and safety errors in the installation and remediated them for a nominal cost. I will definitely use him again for future issues.

The door spring broke on the door.  When I called he wanted pictures to make sure he brought the right parts and quoted the right price.  Communication was excellent!  They arrived on time and did an excellent job.  They check both doors for safety at no extra charge.  They did need to be adjusted.  The cost was exactly the estimate.
