While you can install an above ground pool on most level surfaces, you’ll need sand to protect your liner from tearing. For example, rocks, plants, and twigs can take a toll on your liner. It’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after opening your pool before you swim in it. Although the upfront costs for a concrete pool are high, these pools tend to be more durable than pools made from other materials and will last the longest.
