"If you want the job done right, Brackettry is your best bet. We hired Daryl to complete a full basement remodel and couldnâ t be more pleased with his work. The job was finished quickly, efficiently, and at the highest standard. Communication was easy and even as things came up, he was fully transparent and kept us involved in all decision making. Daryl never compromises the quality of his work with a quicker or easier route as other contractors might. He builds things to last. There arenâ t many with the same work ethic, professionalism, and overall skill as Daryl and his team, and it shows is every project they take on. HIGHLY recommend hiring Daryl for your next home improvement project!"

"Maureen and her staff were courteous, punctual, professional and thorough. One example of their thoroughness: cleaned grimmy kitchen cabinets to the point where they looked like they had been refinished! Great job!"

"They were awful to get a hold-off. It took a long time for me to be able to get them to call me back. I had some rugs and they said that they were not going to take the rugs because they were too heavy. It turned out to be a hassle to deal with them. I would never use them again. The pricing was fine. I think they were pretty competitive. They took one rug, but they would not take another. At first, they said they would take anything, but then, they did not. Their punctuality was fine once they came out."

"Very professional and great attention to detail.  I was not home when the carpets were cleaned but my husband was and he told me the guy was thorough and hard working.  The carpets looked great.  I will use them again."

Closets questions, answered by experts

A standard walk-in closet has dimensions of 7 feet by 10 feet at a minimum and an average of 100 square feet. Remember that the dimensions of the closet aren’t necessarily the usable space. This means that a 100-square-foot walk-in closet with shelves on each wall and an island may only have a walkable area of 50 square feet or less. Make sure you consider the effect of additions when you plan the room—mockups are a great idea.

There are certainly luxury upgrades you can make but you can seriously improve the look and functionality of a closet without spending much money. Color matching will make the closet seem bigger so any shelves painted the same as the wall is a good tip. While pre-made closet organizers may seem expensive they offer an aesthetic look that's hard to achieve with DIY methods. Lastly, removing clutter and unworn items will help the closet seem bigger and cleaner.

When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.

When you are securing your DIY home office built-ins to the wall, you should start by locating the wall studs. You'll then want to use long screws to attach the cabinets, shelves, and bookcases directly to the wall studs. Your built-ins will be far too heavy to attach to the drywall alone by using anchors.

Yes, books are typically heavier than clothes, unless you have a collection exclusively of paperbacks or comic books. That’s why packing lots of books warrants careful planning and consideration. Consider packing up your reading collection first to determine whether you need to downsize it before loading it into your moving truck.
