We scheduled the work, and had the carpet removed. Once removed, it was apparent to the crew that showed up that the work didn’t need to be done. They quickly reassessed and were honest with me about the reassessment. Their crew was already on site and they could have easily just done the work and billed us. They had a structural engineer contact us to follow up and do a formal reassessment of what work needs to be done. Their crew chief attended the engineer’s assessment to make sure they understood. Their estimators and crew were friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. I paid their crew (already on site) to tear apart some wall to make sure we completed the inspection, but no additional work needed to be done. Their work ethic and commitment to getting this right has them on the top of my list for any future work I need done in their area of expertise."

"It was my good fortune to be working in my front yard when Richard Golobo, owner of Capital Paving and
Construction completed a U-turn in front of my driveway and offered his driveway restoration services to me. Always reluctant to accept both unsolicited phone calls from merchants, as well as walk-ups hoping to sell me something, Mr. Golobo was similarly treated to my sales resistance! Speaking with him for some minutes did, however, convince me that he knew well his trade, and while he went to another part of my neighborhood where his crew was working to retrieve a contract form, I quickly confirmed all of his spoken credentials and Angie’s List outstanding reviews via my PC!. When he did return with some members of his crew they wasted no time in putting sledge hammer to deteriorated asphalt, and soon the sound of masonry saws and dust filled the quiet spring morning.
Mr. Golobo fully explained to me at our initial meeting what the job would entail, its duration and cost. All of these terms were acceptable to me. As my driveway had lowered at the lip of the concrete apron just before the garage entryway, it was necessary to dig out the entire width of this asphalt to an approximate distance of 2and frac12; feet from this lip and backfill and
undergird the resulting cavity with some pieces of the broken asphalt. The remainder of the resurfacing was routine and proceeded for a period of several hours with all 7 members of his crew working tirelessly and efficiently
performing their various tasks. Each member of Mr. Golobo’s crew was friendly and highly professional to a fault. It was a pleasure to have this kind of work atmosphere while this job was being completed, and I missed the crew when they
departed!

"We choose to work with Dave Bennington and Montgomery Kitchen and Bath based on reputation.  Dave (and Keith, the kitchen designer from MKB) came to our townhouse for an initial meeting and estimate.  It was a small space with challenging dimensions.  Keith and Dave could immediately visualize a design that would maximize our space and add a pass-through to the dining room, creating a more open plan for our 40 year old townhouse.  It took a while for our family's schedule to accommodate the start of the project.  Dave stayed in touch during that time, answering the myriad of questions a perfectionist homeowner can come up with.  We worked through Dave and his contractors for almost everything: cabinets, countertop, appliances, sink, and tile. The project changed the look of the entire first floor of our townhome. The outcome exceeded our expectations.

Did everything go perfectly? No, but Dave hung in with us through the whole project, always responsive to calls and emails. That was what we were most looking for in a contractor: someone we could trust and who wouldn't become scarce and unresponsive during challenges, or leave the job unfinished at the 90% point.  One need have none of those concerns with Dave.  His immediate crew is great. His standards and skill level are high.  He is honest and tells it like it is.  He will hang in until the job is 100% completed to your satisfaction. His team was amazingly tidy throughout the process. As a bonus, we also got extra design finish features that make our kitchen look truly custom as well as contemporary.  Any snags along the way were quickly forgotten as we continue to enjoy using our beautiful and transforming new kitchen.
