"After receiving a ridiculous quote from a big box retail store, I decided to try my luck with Granite Works, and I'm glad I did.
The whole process was wonderful-all their staff were courteous and very helpful, and they answered all my questions completely. Their prices are very reasonable, they have a wide variety of options to choose from, they have good deals and specials, and they don't treat you differently if your project is a small one. They were very honest about all the charges, both actual and potential, and they always made sure I was comfortable with everything.
They explained their process to me and followed it to the letter. Their staff were always punctual, both for the templating, and for the installation. The installation went perfectly, and they gave me clear and specific instructions on how best to care for my new countertops.

"I was combining bright white cabinets on the perimeter of my kitchen with a walnut peninsula.  That required either getting a single granite that would work with both or two granites that would work with the different woods and each other.  I had searched on my own a couple of times and was leaning toward a particular granite.   Nick was able to talk me out of a bad decision.  He then very patiently evaluated dozens of granites with me, pointing out potential problems with some, narrowing down to others.  His expertise with stone helped me to choose beautiful slabs that work perfectly in my kitchen.  I then purchased the slabs and they were delivered to his shop. 
His process (customer buys slab, Nick's crew fabricates the countertop) yields left-over stone in his shop.  From this, he chose a perfect stone for my laundry room.  He measured, then his crew installed a week later.
For the kitchen, he was able to install less than a week after measuring.  That is amazingly fast turnaround for granite fabrication.  The granites were fabricated perfectly and look gorgeous.  Very professional crew.
Overall, it was a terrific experience.  Stonework is as much art as craft.  Nick has great taste and is willing to share that with his customers to help them make great choices.

They also walked me a tour to their fabrication and to show me how granite countertops are being processed from beginning to my kitchen. "Architecture Stones were wonderful to work with. They helped us track down a very economical slab of quartzite that fit our space, and had a remnant in their yard, such that together the two pieces would cover our needs. This cut the price down and they were very helpful. They had software that allowed us to view an image of our slab + remnant with the counter footprint overlain, so that we could see how the veins of the quartzite would sit on the counters. We were able to make adjustments to the plan to get more of the veins and into view on the our island. Isaac Shon was really fun to work with and always in a great mood."

"This company was great.  They did what they said and did it well.  They were respectful and protected our wood floors and cleaned up after they were through.  It was a VERY cold day and tough to do the finishing cuts outside in 10 degree weather. 
Our granite is beautiful.  One of the owners worked with us.  He helped make corrections to some areas where the original granite wasn't done aesthetically well.  He made suggestions of changing the shape to our island bar that has been very beneficial to us and allows more dining and serving area.  He even helped me recycle some of the old kitchen granite they removed and put it in my laundry room (replacing an old Formica counter top).    Would definitely use them again!"
