"It went pretty good.  I purchased it at the beginning of this month but the work was done recently.  There was an additional cost apart from the $649 deal.  I had to pay additional lights.  One issue was, we talked about holiday colors and he did not have any of those.  They only have the standard white light bulbs."

My neighbors have seen the beautiful work that he did and saying that he did an outstanding job and has asked for his cards. Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

No, you shouldn’t insert an LED light into an incandescent socket. It usually won’t fit anyway, but in the unlikely chance that it does, its electrical demands are too different for it to work properly.

You should always hang the lights before the ornaments because hanging lights on top of ornaments can cause some to fall off. If a light sits directly on top of an ornament, it can cause it to heat up and possibly change its color or cause it to crack.

Outdoor Christmas lights cost between $80 to $300 on average without installation. This comes out to about $4 to $50 per strand. You can get a box of outdoor Christmas lights for as little as $20, if you just want to decorate a small area, like a doorway. If you want to go all out and cover your entire home, you'll need between 10 to 20 strands of 100 to 200 bulbs each.

Good news, Christmas lovers: you can keep your lights up all year, provided you choose the type. It's critical that you choose holiday lights made for outdoor use, as these can withstand winter weather conditions. In addition, it's best to use LED lights instead of incandescent ones. LED bulbs can withstand temperature shifts and are energy efficient.

If you are considering leaving your holiday lights up year-round, ask your lighting installer about permanent installation. This project costs around $3,500 but gives you about six to 10 years of LED lights and adds a pleasing aesthetic to your home.

Professional installation offers several benefits, including a safe and efficient setup, access to specialized equipment, design expertise to enhance aesthetic appeal, and the assurance that electrical components are properly managed to prevent hazards or damage.
