"Paul and his team were absolutely amazing! Paul gave us a thorough estimate with a great price, and the price of the estimate was exactly what we paid after the new driveway was complete. The crew were very friendly and extremely hard working! They were efficient while being extremely precise. We are more than pleased with our beautiful new driveway and will absolutely call Maryland Curbscape for future concrete projects!"

"Driveway looks great now. Crew was able to come out quickly and got the job done in less than a day. Price wasn't the cheapest offer I received, but not the most expensive, either. In all, a fair value."

"Joe and the crew from E Stanley did a great job widening our driveway. The job consisted of three parts. First, dig under the existing driveway and remove the roots that were growing underneath. Second, dig a couple of feet on both sides of our existing driveway to widen it out. Finally, pour asphalt on top of the driveway to replace the old one. Joe came in at the best price and finish the entire job in a single day.."

"Alex and the crew were amazing. They are a friendly and professional crew. Mindful of the existing areas, and very quick. They performed the driveway install over a holiday weekend and left our driveway and house looking clean, and professional. They made little changes to the design based on what all we had and how we used the driveway."

"**I posted that I needed asphalt for my driveway on Angi.come and received several phone calls. The reason I chose Frank is that he is very patient and efficient. He came to inspect the driveway in advance and took the time to discuss the details with me when I got home. Additionally, he and his team did a great job, even though my project was small. I highly recommend giving Frank and his team a try!**"

"On April 4, 2013, Ballard Enterprises performed work involving 10 trees that needed attention.  The crew started at the promised time and worked diligently and carefully.  One 6 inch diameter dead oak in the back yard was cut down and the stump cut as low as possible.  For two smaller American beech trees in the back yard, Ballard performed a crown thinning to promote light and air penetration and remove dead, diseased and broken limbs.  For five large oak trees in the backyard (one up against the house), Ballard crews performed a crown cleaning of any dead, diseased and broken limbs.  For a large oak in the front of the house,  Ballard crews performed a crown cleaning of any dead, diseased and broken limbs.  For one large American beech in the back yard,
Ballard performed a crown thinning, removed any dead, diseased or broken limbs with a special emphasis to address limbs that were growing towards the back yard of a neighboring property.  The Ballard crew hauled away all wood and thoroughly cleaned up the back and front yards and the street area near the driveway.  The Ballard crew was always polite and respectful and asked questions if  a specific aspect of the work required clarification.

"My front lawn, porch, sidewalk, and driveway were covered in leaves. Jerry and his crew came, saw and conquered my mess. I'm sure they have seen worse!! I also had sticks from my trees and part of a smaller tree from the hurricane that were all over my front lawn that they cleaned up too. They were great! My Front lawn looks WONDERFUL!! Thank you! Your company saved me many lost  hours of doing this myself!!

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

A driveway's lifespan varies by material. Asphalt driveways typically last 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last longer, between 20 and 50 years. The longevity of any driveway is affected by factors like extreme temperatures, heavy traffic, and the quality of maintenance. Regular upkeep, such as filling cracks, resealing the surface, and ensuring proper drainage, can help extend its life. For gravel driveways, regrading to fill in uneven areas every year or two is recommended.

The three most common types of asphalt are hot asphalt, MC cold mix, and UPM asphalt. Hot asphalt is used most often for paving and patching roadways while it’s hot and workable. MC cold mix asphalt cures more slowly than hot asphalt, but it can be used for temporary patches and repairs in low-traffic areas. UPM is also used cold, but it can be used as a longer-term fix, usable in almost any conditions at almost any temperature.

Asphalt paving offers several benefits, including cost-effectiveness and a quick installation process. It provides a durable and smooth surface, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. With proper maintenance, asphalt also offers longevity.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.
