"Charlie Ornamental did an amazing job fixing my iron gate that has a broken latch. They were on time; complete the job quickly, and did it a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them!"
"This company was fabulous. Mike was extremely professional and responsive to our questions, etc. the crew worked very hard and was so polite. We put up a 6 foot fence around our entire back yard. There were tall cypress trees on either side of the property that needed to be trimmed to make room for the fence. They did all that. The debris was removed and the fence on completion is stunning. It is a 6 ft cedar with single arched gate on one side and double gate on the other. It is a beautiful addition to our property."
"They contacted me right away, and came out on my schedule. He aligned my sensors, and lubricated all the moving parts. He made recommendations for additional parts/repairs, but was not "pushy" about it. "
"The company did a great job cleaning the chimney and inspecting everything. Very professional, but the repairs sounded very pricey so we got other estimates and had it done for less. I would use them again to clean my chimney. "
"Once again, AMS Home Remodeling, Frank, was able to clean up my mess. After ordering a closet organizer unit online. I made the mistake of hiring another company to install the units - 3 total (2 reach in and 1 master). This original company did not know what they were doing and caused me nothing but more problems (i.e. holes in walls, damaged pieces from closet unit that needed to be replaced, etc). Frank was able to make time in his all ready busy schedule to come out to take a look at the mess. He was able to get me into the schedule and complete the install and all repairs from previous contractors by the end of the week. Frank and his crew (Bruno plus 1) did more than an outstanding job. Final product is amazing. I have used AMS Home Remodeling for a complete makeover in my home and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for an honest dependable contractor. I absolutely LOVE these guys. Frank - thank you!!!! "
Automatic gate openers last around 10 years, but this time span depends on several external factors, like the type of gate they're attached to and how well you’ve kept up with general maintenance. Despite lasting a decade, you should still expect to complete one or two repairs in that time, as some components will fail before others.
Thieves can open almost anything with enough time and the right tools, but they also prefer easy targets that are unlikely to get them caught. Forcing open gates is loud and difficult, and to be able to open one electronically requires extensive knowledge of the system, which most thieves don't have. Electric and other security gates are great deterrents because the thief will move to an easier target. If the thief is determined to enter your property, they will most likely find a different entrance point.
Many contractors offer warranties for materials and labor. Confirm terms before hiring.
Yes, most electric and automatic gates can be opened manually. They are equipped with a manual override or release mechanism that detaches the motor from the gate, allowing it to be moved by hand. This feature is essential during power outages or other emergencies.
To activate the manual override, you will typically need a specific key or tool. In some cases, you may also need a screwdriver to remove a cover to access the release mechanism. The use of a key is a common security measure to prevent unauthorized individuals from manually opening the gate.
Because every model is different, it is highly recommended to consult your gate's user manual to familiarize yourself with the specific procedure before you need to use it. Keep any necessary keys or tools in an accessible location. Be aware that automatic gates can be very heavy, so opening and closing them manually may be difficult.
In North America, electric gates are also subject to the UL 325 Standard for Safety, which includes provisions to allow emergency responders to access the property.
Yes, professionals can install gates with locking mechanisms and access control systems for added security.
