"Initially very responsive on the initial quote, and extremely competitive on the price. However, after our project got more complicated (we needed a custom gate solution), things went downhill. From then on, we ran into issues as the materials took weeks longer than they promised to arrive, they were not good at communicating with us on the continually sliding delivery times, and then there were issues with the installation that required substantial rework. Carlos is friendly, honest, cooperative, hardworking, and committed to providing a good solution. I would use them again for simple jobs, but would not recommend them for anything that is custom or complicated."

"Freedom Fence & Deck did a fantastic job replacing our 35-year-old wood fence with a beautiful white vinyl fence. Jim (the salesman) was very easy to work with and accommodated all of our design choices. We found particular latches and handles that we wanted to use, and they agreed to install them for us. The contract process was quick and straightforward. After about six weeks, they were ready to install the fence. They sent out two crews at the same time, plus the owner Steve, who worked alongside them. With seven people working, they managed to finish the entire job in just one day! Our old wood fence was completely removed in about 15 minutes, and then they meticulously installed the new fence, setting all the posts into wet concrete and making sure all the sections were straight. At the end of the long day, when one of the locking gate latches wasn’t working right, Steve patiently worked on it until eventually we realized the part was defective, so he replaced it with a working one. A certain kind of handle had to be ordered, and as soon as it came in, he came back to install it. The fence materials are extremely high quality—the vinyl feels very thick and sturdy, unlike the kind sold at the home improvement stores. And the new fence has completely transformed the look of our property—we’ve already had several compliments from neighbors. "My neighbor hired this company to install a new fence around their entire backyard and to remove the old fence. Our neighbors rent their house out so they were not there when the fence was installed. I own the house on one side of theirs and I was at home during the install. The crew did not appear to speak to english when I tried to talk to them, I cautioned them several times about places the heavy debri on top of the owners drainage system and I was ignored. The workers also came into MY backyard without asking permission, They were using my gate to enter and leave my yard and have broken the gate. It no longer latches shut. In addition, they removed at least some of the old posts by sawing them and leaving the remains in the ground and just digging new holes for the post. This has caused a huge issue for me as the owner of the house nextdoor. Our lots are on a hill and now all the yard debri is actually washing thru the fence into my yard. The holes from the original fence were never filled in and the concrete that was poured for the new post is all over my yard. My dry river bed now needs to be repaired as a result of this company (it is adjacent to the fence). I have reached out to the company and provided pictures and they have not gotten back to me. I am very upset that I am going to have to pay money to have my yard and gate fixed due to a fence that this company installed on my neighbors yard. Bewarned about the crews that this company employees and their lack of caring about your personal property or your neighbors. Update: After posting the initial review, the owner reached out to me. He came out with a crew and fixed the fence gate. They said the lawn issues are due to settling (the yards are on a hill) and I would need to contact the owner of the house or just fix that myself."

After spending time looking at our planned fence project with a representative of another fence company (not named here, but widely known in the metro DC area) and getting their estimate, I felt like we should maybe look further. A fence project isn't a huge undertaking, but he was thorough in his assessment of the project, had great suggestions on how it should be done, including around plants and trees... and the estimate came in 20% lower than the more widely known company! When Capital's team actually did the project, they were painstaking and detail oriented. The fence was effectively built in place - no pre-fab sections - and it looks great. "The guys came in and removed all of the old fence around our 3/4 acre back yard.  It took them only 3 days to do all of the work including putting up the dog wire around the entire perimeter.  They also installed a new rail fence around our swimming pool with wire.  They installed 3 gates where needed.  Everything went extremely well.  We are extremely happy with the whole job."

The work crew of Victor, Edwin and Manola were also extremely meticulous with measurements, cutting (spanners/gates), installation and cleanup. The result is a gorgeous split rail fence with Black Locust Posts, anchored in concrete and beautiful custom cut Cedar Gates - nicest in the whole neighborhood. The entire project (initial interview to installation/cleanup) was completed in 25 days - sooner than some competitors scheduling of initial interviews!
