"If you are looking at the pictures of the kitchen it belongs to me , Jim B. John Zalaf did the work and I think he did an outstanding job. We are nearing completion and I am very proud of my kitchen. He works magic with ceramic tile and paint, , he takes his time and makes sure everything is a perfect fit. You will not be disappointed with his work. He also redid my fireplace , you will find him trustworthy and his prices are reasonable."

"Was very pleased this contractor --everything went well, and outcome was better than expected. They called after my posting, listened to my problems with ceramic tile walls of bathroom shower, described what they would do, and we made appointment. Day 1 they did all the work (removed old grout & caulk, sprayed to remove mildew, put in new grout & caulk) and left the shower looking like new. As instructed we waited 24 hours before using."

"Found water spots on floor  tile in half bath and suspected toilet was leaking.  Glenoak was able to come out the next day - gave the toilet a shake and it was very loose. Took off the toilet, inspected the wax ring and flange, replaced ring and supply line, tightened the toilet and cleaned up.
Robert was very professional both on the phone and in person.  He arrived within the time frame he quoted and gave an estimate (dependent upon seeing the flange once the toilet was off) before performing the work.  He inspected the flange which was fine, made the quoted repairs, checked several times that there were no leaks, and cleaned up the bathroom.

Grout Tile Cleaners FAQs, answered by experts

Professionals use various tools and cleaning solutions based on the type of floor they’re cleaning. They often use industrial steam cleaners to pull debris out of the carpet. For localized stains, they may use a commercial cleaner or a mixture of water, vinegar, and dish soap. For tile, they’ll typically use dish soap and hot water, plus a mixture of baking soda and hot water for the grout. For cleaning wood floors, they might use a low-heat steamer, a mop with an oil wood floor cleaner, or a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and lemon juice.

There are different reasons for wanting to wash your floor by hand or using a mop. For deep and thorough cleaning, hand washing allows you to scrub hard-to-reach spots, ensuring the entire floor is pristine. You may want to use this method every other month. Mopping is ideal for weekly maintenance and vast spaces where hand washing is too time-consuming and labor-intensive. Remember, cleaning your floors regularly is better than skipping the task altogether, so use the best method that works for you.

Now that you know the true pleasure of a squeaky-clean floor, you’re probably wondering how to keep floors clean between mop days. Here are the best tips to keep your floor looking spotless:

  • Give floors a quick daily swipe with a microfiber mop.

  • Keep a spray bottle of your cleaning solution on hand to use as needed.

  • Sweep daily and vacuum once or twice a week.

  • Clean up spills and messes as soon as they happen.

  • Place a doormat at each entrance to your home to reduce mud tracking.

  • Consider enforcing a “no shoes inside” policy.

  • Wash your pet’s paws before letting them back inside.

Yes, mold can grow under your shower tiles if they aren’t thoroughly waterproofed. Even if you have a durable, non-porous tile material, water can make its way through grout or gaps around the edges of the shower. This will slowly erode the grout, which can cause tiles to come loose. It can also trap moisture behind tiles, and within a day or two, mold and mildew can rapidly grow.

While it’s still best to install waterproofing materials behind the tiles, you can still add better water protection to your shower without any demo work. Start by softening and removing old grout and installing new grout, then seal the grout and caulk the shower to help seal any gaps and prevent leaks.
