"This was the second time we used H L Bowman for our plumbing needs and we have been impressed both times. Their plumbers are prompt, courteous, and friendly, in addition to being great at their craft. For this visit, I had a leak under a kitchen sink and did not realize that I needed to have the entire faucet replaced. The plumber recommended the closest plumbing supply store and waited while I selected the one I wanted. He efficiently did the replacement. Very happy with H L Bowman and would highly recommend them."

"Neary is one of the good ones. Billy gave me detailed quotes for all the work, and worked with me to get the most important stuff finished before winter hit. He's one of those rare true craftsmen -- not "that guy" who gives you a quote and then sends a random crew of day laborers to do a slapdash job. He was on the job himself most days, doing the work and giving direction to the people who work with him. He knows enough to recognize when other jobs weren't done correctly, takes the time to explain the problem, then goes & fixes it right. There were some delays, but you mostly have to expect that when working with contractors. The important part is that I felt that I got excellent value for the money I paid (not cheap!), and my house is in much better condition than it was at the beginning of the year. A+ would hire again (in fact, I'm already working on a list for him to quote in the spring).

"Silmac provided high quality workmanship at a reasonable price. Not only were the new materials installed with glistening perfection, but an old wooden door with panels was painstakingly sanded and painted so smoothly it looked as crisp and new as the rest! New baseboard moulding in the adjacent room was custom ordered and stained to match the old wood trim as if the room had always been that way. The specialists brought in for plumbing, electrical work and carpentry had clearly been carefully vetted. The drawers and cupboards under the knee-wall are fitted to take full advantage of the space, and faced with paneling that matches the style of this 1920's house. When the plumber saw that the sink was wall-mounted he came back with decorative chrome piping for underneath - something I wouldn't even have known to ask for! Everyone worked hard and cheerfully and communicated with each other as well as with me. Best of all - there were NO DRIPS ANYWHERE - not so much as a smudge, on my wood floors and stairs. It was such a relief working with people who know how to do things well, since I don't always know how to specify good work. Labor and materials came to about $22,000 ."
