We are not happy with the system because we can't use it in efficient mode thus saving energy. The well water is too cold so we need to use it in Ibrid mode in order to have enough water for four people in the house. When I complained I was told that the well may be the problem. Why was I then sold on this particular system? I was also told by the owner that his mother has the same system as other customer and they all work. Little help for me because mine is not efficient. Company has never looked into solving the issue.
We only had the brand new system installed last October so this December 2014 the pump failed. The system is only 1 year and 3 months old. We spent over 13,000$ for this system so imagine our reaction. We called for service. Now we have 10 year warranty on parts but not on labor. This meant that for the service call I was billed for was 95$ and on top of that I had to pay them to change the broken piece. Which would have been fine until.....
Three problems arise : 1) I unwillingly paid for the service charge because when the tech came to our house he had no clue of what had happened. Confused he called the 800 number on the heat pump and ask the customer service to guide him through the process to understand why the pumps failed. I find it ridiculous that I call nashoba for service and I need to pay for a service call when the only service I receive is watching the tech call the 800 number which I could have called and save the 95$.
2) when I was told that I needed to change the fan which made the pump fail I was told that since I hadn't pay to have a labor warranty (like I hadn't paid enough already) I had to pay over 400$ to change the fan. I told Nashoba I did not want them to return to my home and be charged so much after having spent an enormous amount of money for a new system.
3) as soon as nashoba realized I did not want them back the pulled out the warranty card and told me that if I touched the system I was going to lose the year warranty on parts. I wasn't convinced so I called the hot heather manufacturer who explained that that would not happen and that the home owner can change the piece. I would lose the warranty only if I damage the Heath pump while installing the replacement piece.
The meeting with the owner did not go well. Unprofessional and got up from his chair while I was still talking as soon as he realized we were not agreeing. He never offered any suggestions, he never met halfway to keep the customer happy. He just wanted his service charge money and threaten me with "pay or otherwise I see you in court" I never met anyone so abrupt before. My father in-law who was a professional home appraiser also felt Scott was excellent - so it was just a "newbie" home owner that Scott impressed with his attention to detail. He was good at defining what could be a 'negotiating' item versus what was a critical repair to either the safety of the home or the occupants (my family/the current owners). I would completely recommend Scott and Paul Cornell Assoc to someone interested in a trustworthy inspection. The office manager and staff were also extremely quick to respond to questions and easy to get in touch with. Paul Cornell and Assoc were a little more expensive than their competitors, but well worth it if you are looking to get an inspection on a "antique" home. I've had a great experience doing business with PC Myette, and they've helped us out when issues came up in the past. When we purchased our lawn tractor, it was delayed in arriving from the manufacturer for a couple weeks in the middle of the summer so PC Myette sent out a crew to mow our...
ACE came out 4 or 5 times to get the entry points sealed and all work done. They were very nice and professional and we would use them again in the future. Also provided a warranty on the work they did that is good for 1 year.

Home Warranty Plans offered thru American Home Shield, one of the largest and oldest warranty companies in the US. We offer free consultation for Home, Auto, Business, and Life Insurance needs also. A lot of homeowners ask the following question: I already have homeowner’s insurance, so why do I need a home warranty as well? It’s a fair question to be sure, but what most homeowners don’t understand is that these two policies actually cover very different things. Homeowner’s insurance covers things like structural damage caused by fire, vandalism, hail, or other scenarios. A home warranty, though, covers your appliances and systems if they break down. The following appliances and systems are generally covered, though some will require a premium membership: Heating Electrical Plumbing Plumbing stoppage Water heater Whirlpool bathtub Microwave Cooktop Oven/range/stove Dishwasher Garbage disposal

"0 stars! Homeserve is a scam. We had our main sewer line back sewage up into our basement due to a tree root intrusion. The techs they sent out from Down Home Plumbing to repair the blockage ran an auger through the line and then told us they didn't hit any major resistance and the issue was resolved. They did not camera the line to source the blockage or to make sure they had cleared the blockage because Homeserve does not authorize them to do so. Not to mention the techs arrived 3.5 hours past their estimated appointment window and one of them spent the entire time on his cell phone while his (possibly barely 18 year old) partner did the work. Water began backing up in our main again immediately as the auger had done nothing but temporarily push the roots aside. So we called Homeserve again and told them this time that cameraing had to be approved so the issue could be fully resolved. The first company they requested to come out was unavailable so they sent the job back to Down Home Plumbing. Down Home Plumbing confirmed the appointment with Homeserve and I received a text and email confirmation they would be on site the next day. But when I called the next day to confirm the arrival window they could not find the appointment/repair information without calling Homeserve. And once they did find it, the tech and his manager called more than once attempting to reschedule it for 1-2 days later because they were busy and didn't feel sewage backing up into my basement was an emergency. After several heated conversations and multiple calls from myself to Homeserve, a tech did show up. He called Homeserve again before doing anything to make sure the cameraing was authorized and then proceeded to camera the line. He found a massive tree root intrusion and informed us the line would need to be dug up and at least a portion of it replaced. He let us know he would contact Homeserve with this info and they would be in touch ASAP. Two days later we had heard nothing, so I called Homeserve to be told Down Home Plumbing had never sent them the information. They assured me they would follow up with Down Home Plumbing and send the repair request for approval. Another 24 hours later, I got a call from Homeserve saying we needed to remove the tree that had caused the root intrusion. I informed them it would be down that day. They then asked if we would like to add a cleanout to the main line at the street at an out of pocket cost of $830. I told them no. They said that was fine and Down Home Plumbing would be in touch to schedule the repair. After I didn't hear from Down Home Plumbing for another 48 hours, I called them and was informed that they had told Homeserve the installation of the cleanout was mandatory by code and they could not schedule the work. Homeserve got it wrong! Had I not called Down Home Plumbing, no one would have called me. Mind you my sewer line has backed up for 2+ weeks at this point already! When I called Homeserve they refused to take any responsibility for their miscommunication and doubled down that the cleanout installation would have to be done out of my pocket because it isn't covered under their policy. I informed them that their policy states they exclude "Any replacement, correction, upgrade, or move of Your existing System in order to meet any code, law, regulation, ordinance, or utility directive, if not directly related to the necessary Covered Repair." But when you're replacing my main sewer line, putting a cleanout on it IS "directly related to the necessary covered repair." After half an hour of asking for a manager, a manager named Alisha tried to tell me the repair wouldn't work without the cleanout and then hung up on me. If that were even remotely true, that would also make it "directly related to the necessary covered repair." These people can't even read their own policy. Meanwhile, the work still isn't getting done! Avoid Homeserve like the plague. They are slow, stupid, and overpriced for the nothing they provide. And they use the worst (read cheapest) possible installers who could care less about customer service or quality workmanship."

FAQs for home warranty projects in Westford, MA
Many benefits come with buying a home warranty when selling your home, but there are drawbacks to consider, too.
Pros
Peace of mind of home repair coverage
Incentive for buyers
Transferability to new owners
Prevent post-sale issues
Cons
Expensive cost
Exclusions of certain features or appliances
Coverage limits
Often difficult to understand
Potential wait for claim service
On average, a home warranty costs about $1,100, ranging from $80 to $8,300, depending on your home size and its features, type of home warranty plan, and the coverage included. Your home’s location also factors into the cost of a home warranty, with areas with a higher cost of living experiencing increased warranty costs.
Additional cost to consider include:
Deductibles: $75–$125 per call
Add-ons: $2–$35 per month
Premiums: $200–$1,200 per year
Several factors make a home warranty worth it or not, especially the age of your home and the condition and age of the appliances in it. If you buy an older home with most or all original appliances, a warranty may be worth the investment as these home features are more likely to need repairs or replacements. However, if you’re buying a new-construction home, a warranty may already be included, and you may not need to use it for several years. In this case, purchasing add-ons may not be worth the cost until a few years later.
Offering a home warranty when selling can make your property more appealing to potential buyers. The warranty gives them peace of mind that many systems or appliances will be covered if they need to be repaired or replaced in the near future. Additionally, the home warranty may cover problems that arise during the home sale, such as a leaky roof or water in the basement.
The main types of home warranties cover the basic essentials, but additional plan types focus on specific areas such as:
Appliance plan: This plan covers typical household appliances like refrigerators, stoves, washer and dryer, built-in microwaves, and dishwashers. It costs $360 and $540 per year.
System plan: Costing between $360 and $540 per year, this plan covers central home systems like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and water heaters.
Combination plan: This plan type covers both systems and appliances, costing between $545 and $1,500.
