9/05/2017 Savoie & Savoie is a small Father & Son operation. Mike is the Father and is getting older, he doesn’t go up the ladder very much. Mike sends his young son and apprentice up the ladder these days to do the bulk of the work, while he stays on the ground and supervises. It appears that the son is still learning the trade. As you can see from another recent review the quality of work at this company has gone downhill. I purchased a new colonial and the builder put gutters on the rear of the house only. I was interested in having gutters installed in the front of the house to move rain water away from the foundation and to eliminate splash back that was occurring on the lower front siding. In July of 2017 I noticed Savoie & Savoie was at my neighbor’s house doing gutter work. I checked the company’s rating on Angie’s List and the reviews were favorable. I went over and asked Mike Savoie for an estimate. Within a few minutes he came over and looked at my house, measured and then gave me an estimate for $800. The price seemed fair and I asked him to put me on the schedule. Mike said it would be sometime next week. Next week came and went and I called Mike to check in and see where I stood. He said he got delayed with other jobs but that he would come out the following week, which he did. They completed the work within a few hours and then asked for payment. About a week later it was raining steadily and I went outside to observe how the gutters were working. I noticed a steady stream of water dripping from underneath the gutters on the left side of my house where the gutters make a 90 degree turn. The next day I called Mike and reported the issue. Mike said he would come back out (didn’t say when) and take a look at it. A couple weeks later Savoie & Savoie returned and Mike sent his son back up the ladder. It seems the Son didn’t see much of a problem but applied some extra caulking. About a week later it was raining and I went outside to check on the gutters. Same steady stream of water dripping underneath the gutter in the same spot. I took an iPhone video of the water dripping to show Mike, if he was interested. I called Mike again in early August and told him that I still had the leaking problem and that it was unchanged. Mike said he would return again and that “this time he would go up the ladder to take care of it.” Mike said he would ring the doorbell to see if I was home or leave me a note that he had been there. A couple of weeks went by and I called Mike, assuming he hadn’t gotten to me yet. Mike said that he had been there and that I only had a “pin hole” leak and that he took care of it. It rained on Sunday (9/3/2017) and I again went out to check the gutters, same leak, same amount of steady stream “peeing” from underneath the gutter at the 90 degree bend. I called Mike a 3rd time on 9/5/2017 and reported the problem, Mike said that he would have to come back “when it’s raining.” It has been several weeks and Savoie & Savoie has not returned and it appears that they don’t plan to. After thinking about his last comment, his remark about coming back during a rain storm was a brush off. A good gutter guy should be able to check a gutter with a hose to determine if leaks are occurring. I am left with a leaking gutter and shoddy work that Savoie & Savoie is not standing behind. I would avoid this company at all costs, unless you want your house to be one that the Son practices on while learning the trade.

Initially, I was impressed by the work done by Mike Savoie. However, in the rear, the initial drawing showed that there would be one downspout draining onto my driveway. Mike placed a second downspout in the rear, and when I asked about it, he said it was for overflow and that very little water would drain to that downspout. However, the rear gutter has sagged so that the vast majority of water drains to that downspout, causing a pool of water to collect right at the foundation. In addition, in the front of the house the gutter guard has sagged into the gutter and the water is overflowing in that area down to the foundation without reaching the downspout. I called Mike Savoie on July 31, August 25,and August 31 and each time he has said he would take care of it but he has never followed up. His price, while reasonable, was not inexpensive. I understand that sometimes work is not done perfectly initially, however, a quality contractor will return to correct any issues. I am very disappointed at the lack of response to the problems I am having less than 8 months after completion of this work.

Absolutely fabulous. It was quickly done, cleaned up perfectly and do totally on time.

Mr. Savoie was punctual and gave us his opinion of our issues which included larger gutters and down spouts all around. He offered a warranty on both parts and labor which can be transferred if we sell our home. He came at the time and day he said he would and worked with one other person on the project. There wasn't any mess and it only took a few hours. He did not require us to be home to complete the job however we were home that day. Since the instal we've had a drought, but a few thunderstorms flooded our street but not our basement. We have not had any spillover at the roof or in the down spouts. We are very pleased and will recommend Mr Savoie.

Mike came out for an estimate the day I called him.  He answered all my questions and helped me figure out the best place to put the new down spouts so they were effective and looked nice.  I called the next day to confirm that we wanted him to do the job.  He came right out and we signed the contract.  The work was done a few days after he had anticipated but that was due to rain days.  I had called Mike at some point to find out when they were coming and he called me back in a timely manner.  Mike was extremely responsive which is really nice.  The new  gutters look great. 

We had a particularly windy rainstorm after installation and discovered another diverter was needed. Mike came out immediately and installed it. Mike was great to work with, he was very informative, punctual and just a very nice man to deal with.

We had our gutters removed as part of a paint job on the exterior of the house.  Savoie & Savoie was contracted to install new gutters on our home, porch and garage.  The work was completed as requested.

Mike came to the house and gave an estimate.     It was obvious he knew about the products and how to install them.    We scheduled the install for two weeks out, and he arrived on time.    The materials, process, and workmanship was all to expectation.   It's hard to get excited about gutters and downspouts.    When well done, they should disappear from view and be purely functional.   That's the level of service we received from Savoie.     From the street, the work is not visible.   Up close, you can easily see a quality product installed and warranted to last for years.

Overall , a very positive experience. They were very professional as well as pleasant to deal with. The work was done in a very timely manner, and looks great. Conscientious, and left the property clean and neat. Would happily recommend Savoie and Savoie to others.

They were able to come out and give me an estimate the day I called them. Their work was fabulous. They soldered the connections between the gutters and the downspout. They gave me a bigger down spout because I only had one for the entire length of the house. It was a reasonable price. They were able to be out here 8 days after the estimate.

This was the first time I used Savoie & Savoie, though they have been in business a long time. They were relatively informal, but at the same time very informative and efficient. They also cleaned up after themselves well. In addition, the prices were great.
