He was originally scheduled to clean and inspect each of the buildings four dryer vents located in each condo. After surveying the different dryer locations and setup, only two could be worked on. Of the two dryer vents that could not be serviced, he was very knowledgeable and clear as to why and what needed to be done to bring them into specification. The two dryer vents that he cleaned were heavily blocked with lint and functioning poorly after years of neglect. By the time he was done, both lines where clean and properly working. Not only did he clean the lines thoroughly, he replaced what duct needed to be replaced, and secured all connections with aluminum tape for longevity and durability. Kevin was professional, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions and concerns. He worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up as he went along. Doug and his crew (as well as Thor Anderson) did a good job removing a large amount of snow from our roof and also steaming the problematic ice dams. Overall, they seemed to be very professional and upfront about cost per hour, etc. I know that they are not able to control how the snow comes down the roof and how it lands on shrubs below. However, two of our boxwoods next to our front door were damaged (one severely) by ice chunks that came off of the roof. (We will most likely have to replace one, if not both of the boxwoods, and they are EXPENSIVE.) I know that things happen, but I would have appreciated Doug bringing it to my attention (instead of me bringing it up to him) and knocking a little off the bill to compensate us for our damaged landscaping. Like I said, overall, I thought they did a good job, minus the damaged landscaping. It was always a low-producer and we had cisterns in the basement to store water when the well went low. This time, it was dead. We called several local well companies, but Randy was out to the property promptly to survey the situation. We first discussed fracting the well, but that had been done a few years back. Considering this, Randy concluded that a new well was needed. Although Randy sub-contracted with another company to the actual well drilling, everything went very smoothly and we finally found a great water source after a couple days and over 700' feet of drilling. The new well was fracted and connected to the old lines quickly and we now have over 3 gpm. We decided to keep the cistern storage tanks for now to keep an eye on the water level, but even with heavy water usage, we have not had any water shortages since the new well went into production. We couldn't be happier. The price for all of this was steep at $13,000 but given the extent of work performed, it was worth it. If you've ever run out of water, you understand. Connecting to the town water lines would have cost about $100,000 so this was definitely the best option for us."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/me/sanford/randy-marquis-well-and-pump-reviews-6171296.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"John R Beach & Assoc Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Tom K."},"reviewBody":"The process was excellent! Got what we thought was a good price for a mahogany deck. They brought the materials up *before* pulling the permit. The permit required a structural engineering plan as well as a plot survey, neither of which we had (we went through the painful historical society approval already w/ a plan). They left the wood sitting in our 4th floor apartment over the winter and it dried out, so when it was put up, a lot of the boards cracked (they replaced a few of these, but there were still a few they didn't replace as well as one they filled a big knot w/ wood putty with). The railing wasn't very sturdy so they had to reinforce it instead of following the structural engineering design; they didn't put in the footer pads at appropriate spacing as specified by the structural engineer. The Sikkens stain peeled off after less than a year which shouldn't have happened if applied properly (the deck was put up for a few months before they came back and stained it). Nails and wood cutoffs were left under the deck instead of cleaned up. Calls took forever to be returned. Just overall a bad experience...wish we never put up the deck :-P"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ma/brighton/regan-construction-reviews-2340667.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"AARON S FULLER LLC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"David P."},"reviewBody":"The services performed for the PERC test were reasonably priced and fairly well performed. As for the septic design and permitting, it's hard to imagine it going worse. His contract required 1/2 payment up front and the other 1/2 BEFORE he submitted everything to the state. He claimed in early April that he was done and ready to submit. We paid the second 1/2. He then became GROSSLY unresponsive to all efforts to contact him. We finally pinned him down at the beginning of JUNE and he submitted the application 2 months late. The state responded speedily that his septic plan was deficient in nine out of 20 or so categories on their standard septic permit checklist. Almost 50% of the items on the checklist were substandard or unacceptable. Upon receiving the letter from the State, we immediately tired to contact Aaron. After 2 weeks we finally reached him; he agreed to meet us at the land to explain things in person and determine what needed to be adjusted. At that meeting there was no discussion of additional costs and he said he would attempt to submit his revisions ASAP. Two additional weeks passed. We attempted to reach him by email or phone daily; he avoided all contact and did not return a single message. Today he sent a bill for an additional $1125. He has yet to communicate a single thing to us since we saw him last. He has not returned a single phone call or email. He is asking us to pay more than 50% over the original price to fix his mistakes. It is an outrage. We are now more than two months behind in breaking ground and it is completely the fault of Aaron. His original design failed to meet state requirements and now he is trying to hold us accountable financially. Many times during the last 3 months we have felt stuck, crippled, manipulated, and lied to. We determined that we had spent too much time and money with Aaron to start over with someone new. We figure there is no way to recover the money spent with Aaron for work the he performed poorly. With this latest development, we have no choice but to start over. We wasted $2500 and more than 3 months with Aaron. He is a liar and is unprofessional. He is funny and seems to be a \"nice guy\" in person. It is an act. His professional services fell well below the mark. He designed a system that he should have known the state could not approve - not because the land does not support septic, but because his design was flawed. His unresponsiveness makes working with him impossible. The time that Aaron has cost us is even more upsetting than the financial loss. At this point, the builder tells us there is no way the house will be ready before winter. That means we may have to delay building until next spring, costing us over a year. It means our Christmas will not be in our new Vermont home as we have been dreaming for the last 12 months. I would strongly encourage you to find a different septic engineer and avoid Aaron at all costs."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/vt/montpelier/aaron-s-fuller-llc-reviews-449307.htm"},"position":9}]}

"I did not make an appointment, the surveyors showed up and did their work with minimal interaction. I received a plot plan within 3 weeks of the measurements being completed. I am happy with the final product. I recommend being direct with exactly what you need and double checking everything prior to payment as one should always do when hiring someone to do a project on your property."

FAQs for land surveying projects in South Boston, MA
Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:
Planning for construction projects, like building a fence
Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures
Settling property line disputes
Creating subdivisions
Meeting mortgage requirements
Selling your property
Land surveying costs about $530 for the average homeowner. However, your total cost could range anywhere from $200 to $1,000 or more. Factors like the size of your property play a significant role in what you pay, but other things like the survey type and the time of year can also impact the final cost.
For example, if you’re looking for a simple boundary survey, you can expect to pay between $100 and $600. However, if you want a more in-depth survey that depicts the elevations of your hills and trees, you can expect to pay between $500 and $1,200 for a topographic survey.
A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:
Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued.
Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property.
Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy.
Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements.
Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.
Land survey reports provide a lot of helpful information about your property and land. The exact information provided depends on the type of survey you have done, but common information that they can provide includes:
Location of utility fixtures
Clear boundaries and dimensions of your property
General topography
Land elevation information
Confirmation of easements or encroachments
Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.
