"Absolutely love our new patio and retaining wall. We also had the team clean up under our deck and add river stone. Everything was done impeccably. The team was very kind and hardworking. They worked through rain and colder temps and worked from 730am-6pm. Bernie came out to provide the quote and gave me great advice and was always available to call/text for any questions or concerns between the first call and until the work was completed. He also helped us coordinate with the landscapers who could help us with our irrigation system since it needed to be put back following the patio installation. It was a pleasure to work with with them. They were recommended to us by friends and I would definitely recommend/hire them again."

"This is the third project that EA Masonry has completed for us and as the other two projects went, this was top notch as expected. Dan and his guys demo’d a huge, old concrete patio and stairs along with clearing out numerous overgrown bushes. They installed a new patio and walkway along with two sets of entry stairs. The craftsmanship from EA Masonry is incredible and we recommend them to everyone we know who needs any type of masonry work done. You will not be disappointed."

Patios questions, answered by experts

An Arizona room may or may not count toward your home’s square footage, depending on local regulations and the specifics of the room, but generally does not get included in the total square footage. In many locations, a room needs to be built to the same quality as the rest of the home, have an integrated heating/cooling system, and be habitable year-round to count toward square footage.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, with a potential return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 84%. The actual value added depends heavily on several factors. Climate is a major consideration; homes in warm, humid, or buggy areas (like the Southern regions) see the highest ROI. In colder climates, the value is diminished as the unconditioned space is unusable for much of the year. Other factors that influence the return include the quality of materials and construction, the size of the porch, and the local real estate market. While a screened-in porch can enhance curb appeal and attract potential buyers, it is not included in the home's total square footage for appraisal purposes.

A Florida room doesn’t have insulation, nor is the space heated, so in most cases, the room won’t be comfortable enough to use during the winter months. A four-season room, which is like a Florida room that’s insulated, heated, and cooled, is a better option if you’re looking to enjoy your sunroom all year long.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

Yes, it can be worth screening a porch if you live in an area with beautiful weather, since it allows you to enjoy your outdoor space longer in the spring and summer. The additional protected space may even attract more prospective buyers if you intend to sell—especially if you add seasonal features, like a ceiling fan for summer or a heater to winterize your screened porch.
