We are Committed to delivering quality work and outstanding customer service. We customize blueprints for each individual job and work with several subcontractors to ensure quality and completion. Our motto: Any job large or small we do it right or not at all. Call for free estimates.

"I made an appointment for an estimate and after a few calls back and forth the estimator came out. We had a leak and had to get part of the roof fixed immediately but when the estimator came out he was very flippant and asked what was he doing there? My wife requested an estimate and he walked around the house and made some notes in his car. My wife went out to ask if he needed anything and he said it will be about $30,000. We had three other estimates for about half that price. My wife was stunned so she went back in the house. I followed up twice because I wanted a written estimate of what was included for this price and never got a response. I then emailed Mr Morrison and explained what had happened and again requested a hard copy of the estimate and got no response. So unprofessional."

SolarFlair works with businesses and homeowners that are interested to reduce their utility bills and their carbon footprint by converting to solar power. We are a licensed and certified solar engineering and design firm with over 10 years of experience in the industry. We do not use subcontractors and have over 200 satisfied clients that are happy to share their SolarFlair experience.

"The original installation process went very smoothly, however,, A few years after the panels were installed, a leak developed at one of the punctures for the panel mounts. we first called back the roofer to see if the leak was not due to the solar mounts, but he confirmed that the leak was indeed right under one of the mounts. SolarFlair came to take a look and applied a product to the interior of the roof which did nothing to stop the leak, they came back and applied roof tar on the outside which again did not stop the leak. this process has been very frustrating for the lack of communication, the slowness and incomplete response to the issue. They've closed out the work each time they've done something before veryifying that the leak has been fixed (it still has not been fixed). The company had taken over 9 months from our inital call, and we still have a leaking roof. we have very little communication from SolarFlair as to what actions they have taken, and what next they could do. it seems clear that part of the roof needs to be replaced to fix the leak."

FAQs for solar panel service projects in Pittsfield, MA

The average cost to install solar panels is around $26,600, and most homeowners pay between $4,500 and $53,000. Keep in mind that these prices don’t consider the federal investment tax credit (ITC), which can effectively reduce those costs by up to 30%. The price you can expect to pay for solar panel installation depends on the size of the system, where you live, the type and brand of panels, and the labor costs. Get price quotes from at least three solar companies in your area to find the best deal.

In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.

There are a few qualifying questions you should ask a local solar panel company before hiring them:

  • Will you handle permits for the installation?

  • Does your total price include the equipment and labor?

  • How long do you expect the installation process to take?

  • What kind of workmanship warranty do you include with your installations?

  • Who should I contact if I have a problem with my system after installation?

  • Do you install the panels or outsource the work to third parties?

  • Will you file for solar incentives for me?

In most cases, yes, solar panels are well worth the investment. Going solar with your home’s energy is expensive, but, in most states, the panels will pay for themselves by reducing your electric bills. Solar panels don’t produce greenhouse gasses or other pollutants, meaning you can feel good about using this renewable energy source to power your home. Plus, installing solar panels can boost your home value, helping your profit off your next home sale.

Yes, solar panel installation will require permits. The required permits will depend on where you live, as some states and cities have solar-specific permits, while others only require electrical permits to connect to the grid. In either case, it’s best to hire a reputable solar installer in your area, as a representative should handle all of the necessary permitting for you and will include the cost of the permits in your initial solar estimate.
