"Thank you for your review. Customer satisfaction is very important to our company, and reviews are vital to our business."
Overall I would say we are very pleased with results of the job. Many of our neighbors have commented on how improved the house looks now.
Needless to say, I certainly wouldn't use or recommend Morrison Home Improvement.
"First of all, this job was completed over 15 years ago and she never contacted us when the new addition was being added to inform us that some windows were not insulated. When a customer contacts us with any issues they have, we promptly address it, but in this situation we were not even given the opportunity. Judy stated it was a few years later when she started her addition, over 10 years ago, without her making us aware of it, until she posted it on Angie’s list this year 2014. In regards to scheduling of work, jobs are completed in the order they come in. As per our contract, the dates given as start and completion dates are only projection dates, barring delay caused by circumstances beyond contractor’s control."
Really our only complaint was that there were some unexpected costs at the end of the work that had not been clearly communicated at the start (i.e rehanging of gutters, which we thought were part of the original contract)
End result was a beautiful house...well done!
We have used Morrison's 3 times now for window replacements and to remodel our kitchen. I would recommend them to everyone. The owner checks in every day when work is going on, the workers are very professional and do a beautiful job, they show up when they say they are going to and the owner responds to every question and request. Morrison is probably the best home improvement company here in the Berkshires. I plan on using them again for anything else that we need and recommend them highly
Buyer Beware !!
"Wow, where to start? First of all, we're glad to hear that this customer thought that we were great when she purchased the windows. That means that she felt the price of the windows and the professionalism of the sales rep were both excellent. And despite her misgivings, what happened during the install were examples of the precision and exacting standards of our field installers rather than incompetence. When we arrived to install her windows it was determined that the existing windows had been installed in a way that did not allow the new window to fit the opening without either extensive shimming or filling with massive amounts of caulk. Neither of these options fit within the standards of our installations, and the decision was made to not use that window. By the way, we are talking about a difference of a half inch - not enough to be noticeable to most laymen - and most companies would have not thought twice about installing it. Rather than being mis-measured, it was our exacting standards that led to the decision not to use the window, and the customer THANKED us for the extra consideration. At our own expense, the window was reordered to fit the newly revealed opening. Unfortunately, these windows are custom made and have a lead time of 3 weeks - a timeline clearly explained to the customer. When the windows arrived, an appointment for the installation was made for December 26, a date selected by the customer and verified with no less than 2 phone messages. Upon our arrival it was explained to our workers that the customer had forgotten, and the Christmas tree was right in front of the window that needed to be replaced. The installers apologized for waking the customer and asked them to call to reschedule the install, which happened a couple of weeks later. Around this time, our internal audit discovered that a small number of our customers were provided with the wrong glass package due to a factory error. Rather than trying to cover this up, or waiting for customers to notice themselves, we immediately reordered every window with the correct glass. We then notified those customers affected and explained what had happened and assured them that they would get exactly what they had paid for. Again, we were THANKED for our honesty and due diligence on their behalf. As for the building permit... One of the installers simply grabbed the wrong one out of the folder they had with them. When the mistake was realized, the proper permit was put in its place. It is worth noting that this customer had not told us of any issue, and had made no complaint, until they were called and asked for the final payment on their account THE DAY BEFORE THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED. Then the owner personally visited the house, and called and left messages 3 times to try and resolve their complaint, with no response from them. As always, we encourage everyone to visit our website, morrisonshomeimprovement.com to read the reviews from hundreds of satisfied customers, or stop by our showroom at 674 North St. in Pittsfield to see the actual letters."
"Customer was to remove existing carpet in bedroom before we were to start the job of installing new flooring, but customer failed to do so. We removed the carpet at no additional charge! We asked the homeowner to advise their personal painter not to paint the trim of the room, until new floor was installed. The painter failed to listen and went ahead and painted the trim anyway. Since the painter did not wait, he said he would address any needed areas after completion of the new floor. When the homeowner called him back for that, the painter said he wanted to paint the room again and charge, $600.00. This was unacceptable to the homeowner. Our installer repainted what was needed in less than an hour and again at no additional charge to the customer! Initially the carpet was supposed to be removed by the homeowners and before any painting of the trim was done. Contract was signed, 12/30/11 and per our contract, work was to begin on our about 1/16/12. Work began exactly on 1/16/12 and was completed 1/23/12. After the completion of the work, homeowners commented that the flooring job was the best they had ever seen! Visit our website and read through all of our customer testimonials!!"
"The members are past customers of ours and we had previously installed roofing on their 1st home. When they came back to us for a second time, they had stated that they were very pleased with the work we had done and that's why they were back. When the roofing project was started we ran into some problems with the pre-existing roofing and flashing. Due to these unforseen conditions, the project was prolonged, taking longer than expected, but there was no repairs needed after the completion of the job and there was no damage done to the customer's house. We have our own, in-house roofing crew, who were on that job daily, bringing back pictures and daily progress reports. The finished product came out just as we told them it would, if not better."
"Our company honestly did everything we could for this customer. Our company supplied and installed the Kensington windows of this customer's choice. When problems occurred with the product itself (not the installation), my company was happy to contact the manufacturer and have the windows replaced for this gentleman free of any service charges. When problems arose again in the future pertaining to the manufacture of such windows, we again contacted Kensington manufacturing company. Unfortunately, Kensington had gone out of business. In an attempt to resolve the situation, Mr. Morrison replaced and installed new windows for this customer, financing the entire project out of his own pocket! This customer took our company to court and the judge ruled in our favor, commending Mr. Morrison for going above and beyond in his attempts to reconcile the situation when he was in fact not liable for the faulty product."
Jan 11 - Morrison let us know it will now be spring before they can do the work due to weather.
July 2011.
The work was done in the spring as soon as the weather permitted. All of the work was completed within a week - the whole roof, and the chimney rebuild. I liked that the staff cleaned up every day before they left, so it was not like we were living with construction. We have had quite a bit of rain since the work was done, and have not seen any leaks. All of the work was done for the exact price we agreed on, with no extra charges.
We are very pleased and will use Morrison for other home improvements we plan.
