"Eric's team rebuilt our entire three season room, which was not functional. It is now, thanks to Mike and Brian. It also looks very good! Mike works hard at getting things done, and teaches the younger crew very well. He is structured and trustworthy. He also was patient answering my questions (I always have too many..!). Brian pays great attention to detail! I was impressed by how good the tile work looks, and also how good the finishing of the decking to the landing looks like, which he did. They also had to partly redo the patio, and it looks better than before."

"I can?t recommend Frankie enough! He recently installed tile for me, and the results came out absolutely beautiful. His attention to detail, craftsmanship, and professionalism were evident from start to finish. He showed up on time, kept the work area clean, and made sure every tile was perfectly placed. The finished project exceeded my expectations and completely transformed the space. If you?re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and delivers high-quality results, Frankie is the person to call. I?ll definitely be using him again for future projects!"

"ACQ was very professional and reliable. I hired them to install a sliding door at my house. They showed up on time and didn't try to nickel and dime me with additional costs like many other companies have in the past. I would recommend them to my friends and I plan on calling again next time I have work that needs to be done. It seems hard to find reliable businesses these days."

"Tony is a fantastic tile guy. He resurfaced our entire bathroom in tile and did a fantastic job. Tony has continued to assist us with tile needs and other household tasks as needed. We would without hesitation recommend Tony for any job as the craftsmanship (not just workmanship) is second to none!"

"Installed pre-finished hardwood in 2 bedrooms. Very happy with the installation and the crew that installed. 2 minor issues being resolved this week. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 is they delayed my install 2 weeks at the last minute due to lack of inventory. Don’t understand how the didn’t know level of inventory when the set the date."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When choosing tiles for a shower floor, avoid highly porous tile materials, like those with a water absorption rating over 7%. Don’t use non-vitreous tiles, or tiles fired at low temperatures, because they will absorb more water. If you use a highly porous tile in the shower, the tiles can wear down faster, meaning they’ll need to be replaced much sooner.

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.

The easiest tile size to install is large tiles, and they’re easier to install than small tiles—the job is faster and simpler when there’s less placing, adhering, and grouting to do. However, when tiles get really big, they’re more difficult to handle, cut, and fit. Standard floor tile sizes are 12-by-12 inches, 18-by-18 inches, and 12-by-24 inches.

Yes, it would be best if you waterproofed your shower walls before tiling. The cement backing board behind the tile is not waterproof; it’s only water-resistant. On top of your tile backing board, be sure to use a waterproof shower membrane before you start installing your shower tiles.

No, you don’t technically need a cement backer board for a wall tiling project, but not using it risks disastrous moisture damage. Cement is naturally water-resistant, whereas drywall soaks it in, which can lead to warping or mold growth. Always use a backer board treated with a waterproof membrane for bathrooms and other chronically damp areas to ensure complete tile shower waterproofing.
